El Salvador - June 2024
After 23 years, I was finally able to travel to the motherlands and reconnect with our family’s roots, indulged in the lifestyle, the everlasting love of friends and family, and the beauty of Sensuntepeque and its environs. Serenity rushed through me everyday I woke up to the chirps and coos of birds I’d never heard before, the gentle touch of the sun when I first stepped outside, and the warm hug of the humidity on my skin. The opportunity to walk through the life which my parents once lived and hearing untold stories about them was like piecing together folktales from my childhood. With my Tio Elias (the local engineer) as my tour guide, I was given deep insight on design/construction in communities like these in which he’s helped create. As a designer / artist I was constantly motivated and inspired by the vernacularity of these spaces, directing me into the path of discovery and exploration of new places. Building my knowledge brick by brick to one day shape communities around the world with the intent to provide and encourage.

Last Saturday was a fun and busy day with Wayne . Went to see his Daddy and Aunt Heather at The Black Barn at White Sycamore Farm. Ran into Marco the dog, then off to Norz Farm to visit Mommy and Ericka. We went on the Hay Ride with Jess and Isaiah to pick a pumpkin and visit the animals. 🎃🎃
