✨37✨ As I turn 37 today (phew!) all I can think about is what a great year and lead up 36 had been. From gaining a new freedom by the fire, to traveling around the world with friends old and new, and finally opening my dream restaurant, 36 owes me nothing. Here are some of my favorite moments from the last year 🥰 🥰. I am heading into 37 full of gratitude, grit, purpose, and yet so, so excited to begin this next trip around the sun !! 💫💫 #libraseason

The last 9 years, 3 months and 19 days I spent with Edward by my side and now life feels a lot less vibrant, a lot more quiet and completely distorted. Edward was by all means my best friend. He was also my sweet baby boy, my handsome tube, the best sous chef, and my forever protector. I have been contemplating if only my love for him could have been enough to heal him- and I remembered early this morning, that my love already healed him. Despite being surrendered by his previous family, Edward knew I would always love him, protect him and cherish him. We healed each other.

In his time on this physical earth, Edward was an accomplished boy. He traveled to most states on the eastern seaboard, he was mentioned in the acknowledgment section of a cookbook, he learned to love other dogs, he hiked mountains, waded in rivers, took many car rides, loved his cat sisters, and always without fail, loved all his people back and bigger. Edward loved to be part of anything that was going on- whether it was unpacking groceries, watching college football, a shower, a stoop sale, a photo shoot, waiting in line for a dog treat, or squeezing himself right in between me and his dad— his group of people brought him so much joy.

I am truly heartbroken by the loss of my bestest boy. I know that he is no longer suffering and in a happy place where he is playing with so many more bestest boys, and able to sun-bathe, romp around, eat fries and never feel pain again. I know one day him and I will be reunited and it will be so beautiful, so full of love and joy.

Thank you Edward for loving me for every ounce of my being, for never judging, for always being patient, and letting me be the center of your universe. You are the center of mine too- and life is different now. Come visit me whenever you want, I’ll always save you a spot.

Edward Rasheed Joyce, may you rest and play in peace, and know that you will never be forgotten and you will always be remembered, celebrated and loved. Until we meet again my sweet baby. 3/16/2013-10/07/2026
