From @manahere.i.ori.tahiti as being your first competition last year to making it to finals AND placing in your age group a year later…words cannot describe how proud I am of you, my dear girl! Your hard work, dedication, empathy towards others and determination brought you to this point. We are so proud of you!!! Thank you to the @tepuraoterahuraa Ohana for always supporting and cheering her on!

For the love of dance 🫶🏼

🌺Though competition brought us to Hawai’i, we truly felt connected to everyone through our shared appreciation of Polynesian culture, especially when we shared our mana with others through dance!

🌴Whether that was getting to dance the classics with other hālau/pupu ‘ori on stage at Fête, sharing a hula on a boat of visitors after our favorite excursion, or dancing “kani ka pila” style with our dance fam at our staff party, we found opportunities to dance and be with our dancers everywhere!!!

🫶🏼We’re home now but we will definitely continue sharing more of our trip as well as more Disney tingz (including some we took in Hawai’i!)! Thanks for letting us share our travel diaries! 🥰

💛Last week was our beloved @tepuraoterahuraa’s 20th anniversary show (tbh, we’re still recovering 🤣), and we wanted to share few snippets of this huge milestone for our dance family on “Te Pura Tuesday”!!!

❤️Te Pura has been more than our second home for two decades. It has been our safe space and creative outlet week after week, year after year. Through Te Pura, we have connected with cultural protectors that we continue to learn from and build a deeper love for Porinetia.
💜Te Pura gave us purpose & identity, even in our darkest hours, and a chosen family we have grown up with. In the early days, we even drove back an hour and a half for practices during college because we didn’t want to miss out on a single moment.

💚We have had so many incredible opportunities with Te Pura, from halftime shows or festivals in The City to competitions everywhere from here to Tahiti and beyond; showcases in grand theaters all across the world and all of the quiet moments of determination, grit and silliness with our dance sisters sprinkled in.

🩷This showcase helped us not only reflect on our own dance journeys but the ones we have helped set in motion too as teachers and veterans at the studio. We have seen our own dancers grow to perform iconic dances from our own history and we couldn’t be more proud.
A huge māuruuru to our director and unofficial dance mom, Marilou, for always pushing us, believing in us and giving us so many opportunities to shine. (And thank you to our parents who embraced this world wholeheartedly and let us live our dreams 🥹)
