THE RISE - The tour we wish never ended.

Some shows stay with you long after the final curtain.
THE RISE was more than a tour. It was a one of those rare experiences you wish could go on forever.

Our final show in June marked the end of a chapter.
Thank you for the memories.

DEFQON.1 2026

Months of work. Every day, every detail, every minute leading up to one of the biggest moments of our summer.
Then the heatwave changed everything.
Not seeing our work come to life as planned was a tough one.

Being given the opportunity to privately film the Endshow, however, meant more to us than words can say.
Not the edition we imagined. Still a moment we’ll never forget.
Forever grateful to be part of the tribe. We will come back stronger in 2027. ❤️

Niels Krikke @niels_editz (1990) is ondernemer en creative director bij @editz_nl , een creatief videoproductiebedrijf gespecialiseerd in het omzetten van creatieve concepten in visuele projecten. Het biedt een breed scala aan diensten, waaronder pre-productie, videoproductie en post-productie. Het portfolio van Editz bestrijkt verschillende sectoren, met een sterke focus op muziek.

‘We maken visueel verfijnde content afgestemd op de identiteit van het merk of bedrijf, of het nu gaat om een Branding video, een cinematografische muziekvideo of een bedrijfsfilm,’ vertelt Niels.

‘We hebben echt toffe opdrachten. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan projecten voor @Defqon1 Decibel Outdoor en Dominator. We werken landelijk, maar zijn ook trots op onze regionale projecten. Zo hebben we bijvoorbeeld voor de Friese musical De Tocht alle ledschermen van visuals voorzien. Tijdens de show verzorgden wij bewegende beelden, cutscenes en historische scènes op de achtergrond. Deze productie won de Musical Award voor Beste Podium en Decor. Het is geweldig om op deze manier bij te dragen aan de Friese cultuur!’

Niels begon zijn carrière met een grafische opleiding aan het Friesland College, nu @firda_roc en vervolgde met een hbo-opleiding Communication & Multimedia Design aan de @nhlstenden Hogeschool. Hij liep stage bij @vision.impossible in Amsterdam, waar hij werkte aan projecties op led-schermen voor shows als bijvoorbeeld EDC Las Vegas & @vriendenvanamstel Live.

Voor zijn stage verhuisde Niels naar Bussum. ‘Ik was zo’n jongere die naar de Randstad ging om ervaring op te doen,’ zegt hij. ‘Mijn plan was om daar te blijven, maar na een paar maanden wilde ik toch terug naar Friesland. In de Randstad vond ik de mensen individualistischer, terwijl Friesland gemoedelijker en minder gehaast is. Ik geef de voorkeur aan de rust van Friesland.’ Uiteindelijk verhuisden Niels en zijn compagnon @erinsonsma terug naar Fryslân, waar ze Editz oprichtten. Lees verder via 2/2 in de comments ⤵️
