From the Forest to the Table 💫

At Glød Explorer, every meal tells a story — of local ingredients, changing seasons, and life in the North. 🍂✨

Chef Simo crafts dishes inspired by what’s around us: the rivers, forests, fjords, and coastline that make Alta so unique. 🌲🌊 From fresh fish and wild game to bright berries and greens, each plate is a small celebration of flavor. 🌿🐟

Because here, good food is part of the adventure. 💚

🍂 Behind the scenes at Glød 🍂

Even on our days off, you’ll find us out in nature — a little movement for us, and for the huskies too! 🐾

In Norway, we call it “balsam for sjela” — balm for the soul. These crisp Arctic moments remind us why we do what we do: to share this peace and beauty with others. 💛✨

Today as big supporters of slow tourism, we are glad to welcome Steinar & Yngve landlords and hosts of beautiful Norwegian natural Retreat @amotnorway @and.gaia @erlinorway among our virtuous and inspirational protagonists.

"As more and more of us are- fortunately and for the best- getting used to buying less but better, in the near future, we also should be willing to travel less but better and in this way, supporting slow, sustainable and regenerative tourism. Making the committed decision to choose with care and mindfulness only one-of-kind places that we deeply want to discover and where to create unforgettable memories- alone or in good company- and get a raw, authentique, revitalising and luxurious 5-star experience.
