Of everything I did at the last APEX event, finishing the 40-yard dash without getting hurt was by far the biggest win for me.

Was it my best 40? Not even close.

But being able to sprint, truly push myself, and walk away healthy meant more than any time on the clock.

There’s something incredibly humbling about going from being a professional athlete, where your entire life revolves around physical performance, to reaching a point where you can’t even trust your body to sprint 40 yards.

When you’ve spent your entire life training, competing, and pushing your limits, losing the ability to do something so fundamental is a horrible feeling.

It’s not just physical. It genuinely messes with your identity.

You go from never thinking twice about sprinting at 100% to overanalyzing every stride, every sensation, and every little feeling in your body.

For me, getting to those few seconds has been an absolute mental circus.

That voice in your head telling you not to get hurt again gets real loud when you’ve spent so much time guarding against another injury.

The hardest part hasn’t been rebuilding the physical ability to sprint. It’s been rebuilding the confidence to actually let myself do it.

And I think that’s something a lot of former athletes struggle with that doesn’t get talked about enough.

Your brain still remembers the athlete you used to be, but your body doesn’t always cooperate. Navigating that disconnect can be an absolute nightmare.

That’s what makes @apexathlete.official so important to me.

For the first time in a long time, I felt like I could actually compete with myself instead of constantly trying to protect myself.

The feeling of crossing that finish line healthy, knowing I had finally allowed myself to push, was genuinely euphoric.

Sometimes the biggest PR isn’t the number on the clock. It’s getting back to doing something you were starting to believe your body might never let you do again.

S/o @timrileytraining for creating the best test of athleticism around, and s/o @tatumbrandt @adrian_camargo5 @erock_808 for putting an insane event together again.

On to the next one. 🤝

The Mixed Doubles division ⚡️💛 brought the passion, the cheers and even @nickcannon to Alpha Games: The Main Event at the American Dream Mall this past Saturday.

Also we heard it was National Coaches Day ‼️ yesterday and these pictures capture just a small amount of the love, energy and support these coaches brought to the event & to their classes in the studio every single day.

⬇️Tag your favorite coach below & tell us why!

What an incredible past three days with absolutely incredible people. Being on the other side, coaching the adaptive athletes at @wodapalooza with @adapt_aon was extremely rewarding. I’ve learned so much and am excited to keep growing my knowledge on how to best champion the adaptive community and help competitions like this run smoothly. I can’t thank @adapt_aon enough for creating these spaces for athletes with unique abilities. To showcase such incredible individuals is an honour, and I look forward to working more behind the scenes.

I watched the Huntington Beach City Council Meeting from September 15th so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.

Anyway, @wodapalooza estimates it will create an $8 million economic impact to the city of Huntington Beach this weekend, thanks to the over 2,000 athletes, over 50 vendors and all the spectators in attendance.

After 2 months of gym stops across Southern California and one final WOD on the sand, the Gymreapers Wodapalooza SoCal Tour officially came to a close at Bolsa Chica.

We moved, we played, we gave stuff away, and most importantly, we brought the community together one last time before SoCal.

Thank you to every gym that hosted us, every athlete who threw down, every coach, and every supporter who showed up along the way.

See you NEXT WEEK at the 3rd Gymreapers Wodapalooza SoCal.
