Design is everywhere, but where are the female designers? ⁠ ⁠ Graphic design shapes cultural conversations. Yet one of the most important issues is still missing from the discussion: gender equality. Differences between agencies and studios often show themselves through long working hours, lack of mentorship, and unfair credit practices. All of these make cracking the glass ceiling even harder for women.⁠ ⁠ Together with the team, proudly 60% female, we explored the causes of gender inequality in the industry, shared personal experiences, and offered ideas on how to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.⁠ ⁠ Read the full article on our website.⁠

On May 20th 2024 , I graduated 🎨👨🏽‍🎓‼️ First gen college students rise up‼️🙏🏽🙌🏽 Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this point in my life. To the professors I've met who helped me shape myself and inspired me, thank you. Before college, there were definitely moments where I felt like because of my background, I wouldn't be able to attain something like this. But I want more for myself, to be the best I can be. Black and brown students deserve to win, especially in an academic system where they are not appreciated or acknowledged as much. My identity as a Peruvian-American is one I wear with pride. Although, something unfortunate happened during graduation ceremony. I was dead named during my own graduation,  this moment that I've been anticipating for all my life just to be dead named. I tried not to think about it right after it happened, but it wounded me very much. Being transgender is difficult, changing my name was a social/emotional challenge as a adolescent. This brought back so many unpleasant memories...So, I hired someone to say my full name correctly and edited the audio of the clip.  I deserve respect, my full name has deep importance to my ethnic and queer identity. I don't want to close this chapter incorrectly. My name is Gabriel Pilar Pala (gah-bree-el p-lar pa-la) ..Gabe is fine too :) I am a Peruvian-American and queer artist born & raised in New York City.
