“LABUBU wants you all to come to the stage and fill the stairs” — Michelle Perez addressing dignitaries SOS, Mayor, Alderppl, Sen Prez, Reps, Sen and Chicago’s west side

Iykyk - Anything for the plot ?

Fr fr one day 5 years ago I showed up at a food giveaway in Chicago’s west side with Social Change at Learn in North Lawndale, Chicago. For context this area faces a high 33-40% poverty rate. I came across then Rep. Lakesia Collins and the Late Commissioner Dr. Dennis Deer shout-out Jimmy that is where we first met!!. So honored 5 years later to help LC tell stories of everyday people that matter.

Shout-out Kiara our amazing and best Chief of Staff in Illinois just saying she helped make the event possibleeee.

It’s my birthday season and I am also so grateful to Johanna, Joline, Moira, Paloma, Rosie, Mari @only1maribody @desttiinnyy97 Jessica, Kiara, and all the girly pops who pour into me so I can pour into others. Thank you Joline for giving me a chance one random afternoon with Healthy Hood Chicago. Thank you to Todd and Social Change and your wonderful fam for connecting me with someone I consider one of my greatest friends and a sister LC.

As we face unending darkness may we lean into community to confront it and build something beautiful rooted in our shared humanity.

Lastly ty to my sister Vero she is an anchor in my family and mom and family for helping me w my bday party as well as Johanna my beautiful political powerhouse baddie for helping me lock in and provide a beautiful 13 going on 30 candle lit wholesome party with my FAVE tarte aux fruits (I HATE cake).

Oh ty Moira for showing me what real love looks like. I love you so much.

Now Alexa play “Michelle in Paris..” ✨

📍 Wicker Park - @424chicago I want to highlight my constituent Freddy who recently opened a studio space in the 5th Senate District. He is an up and coming artist and entrepreneur who just opened a coworking creative space alongside a coalition of other creatives. @escobarestilo

Thank you for having my office join you for a day of creative programming including DJ sets, an open mic, a poetry slam, and a fashion show.

Freddy speaks openly to his lived experience being formerly incarcerated and is an example of what investing in people and providing them second chances looks like. Congratulations to you and your whole team! Check their space out:

March 8th, 2026: supported my favorite human beings! Man, from Foxtrot dreaming and hearing them talk about starting this establishment, coffee shop, and community center duo…Can’t wait to support and draw + make music and show love drinking delicious coffee supporting my bruddanems Freddy Escobar, Henny, and Artwave Media—love their events, they’re doing everything we talked about and more years ago when they dreamt out loud to me while I would draw and do homework. The photo series carries a silver-toned, 1950s Egyptian cinema Afro-Asiatic Assyrian–inspired filter where soft black-and-white bleed merges with the original color grade, creating a luminous, nostalgic aura that feels archival yet alive. A Chicago 2012 deep-fried drill treatment pushes contrast, bloom, and saturation into the highlights while preserving midtone detail, with holographic rainbow flares, chromatic aberration, and grain adding a dreamlike, almost spiritual haze. Altogether, the filter behaves like a photographic overlay—softbox glow, halation, and reflective shimmer—turning everyday moments into a surreal, glowing memory space rooted in community, intention, and time.
