The tallest candle we ever saw, flown in from Paris, Fraahnsz to Morro Bay, just for you. Little town….big candle.

@eska.paris shapes the tall boys by hand-ladling beeswax using an ancestral technique known as bougie à la louche, and the shorties are meticulously hand-dipped in a method called chandelle trempée. And PAPA SHOP is the only place to get them on the West Coast 🕯️

This is a story about a wedding florist getting married to a stationery designer, on a strangely warm Spring weekend in Portugal. We laughed, we cried, we celebrated our Portuguese culture. We paid homage to our ancestors, we activated some core childhood memories and we hope we created some more for everyone involved. We ate, we drank, we kissed hard, we danced harder. We had Fado, Cante Alentejano and everyone singing along. We had the Portuguese Tasca replicated through our eyes and the paper table covers, the Portuguese countryside reinterpreted for our guests. We ate food from Alentejo, drunk wine from the Dão and we warmed things up with a couple of ponchas from Madeira. It felt like us, it felt like home. It felt like the true Portuguese soul.

We brought some of our favourite artists along. It all started with what we are used to creating with @ohmariaflores & @nonaked_design_studio . We planned and designed this for over a year with @loversstudioevents, @casa_sacoto was an obvious choice. @thevernacularphotography chased us through the whole process immortalising all the events in both photo and video, while @jchickphotography came along to shoot us on film. @letshair & @mubybalu are every bride’s dream glam team. @behen.studio helped us including Portuguese heritage details into our outfits. @fernandamartinezevents was the friend that got us married. @joaoairesgama_studio sculpted the wood for the ceremony pieces. @poda.restaurante came to feed us, @constancacordeiro brought the cocktail fun and @oilhadamadeira with the poncha. @loftdeltio with the vintage furniture, @bcplanning_rentals with the hard-and-tableware. @your_jukebox handled the AV, allowing @as.cantadeiras , @maria.infantee and @djfellaz to have everyone singing and dancing during the night.

Special and many thanks to @atelier.memoria @fullcut @giuliamisani_ @unac0metante @renatomegha_ @marypoppies @catarina__j @diogomcaeiro @weare.flo @helenasmsantos

We know we’ll have a handful of amazing weekends throughout our life, but so far, this was our favourite one. Now we know what it feels like to get married and yes, it’s all that! Until the Universe sets up apart 🤍
