Wrapped set for our first short narrative film of the summer and what a time to be alive… Shout out to the dynamic cinematographer, #brockfeb.

Endless gratitude to the entire cast and crew—y’all are SO BOMB. The energy on set was beautiful. Y’all made the long nights phenomenal. Such champions. @dariusbaber @thecityproper @iamrockieb @melindachristinebeauty @ximaunicorn @co_ni_ka_si @narigarner #drethephotographer

Barcelona ate my heart and never gave it back 🥺 I’m so so thankful for all the amazing people I met (not tagged but u know who you are ❤️) all the memories, laughter and heart pounding moments. I didn’t get to do everything I wanted and I know this is not going to be the last time i’m here. Next time I’ll live in a beautiful apartment with a balcony for my plants and Arabella and hopefully a future lover. I’ll be near everything and my heart will be able to venture out and wander for hours. Til next time 😇

@lansuh and I made an experimental short film last year that I wrote about the uncertainty of being a Black artist, and how disorienting and surreal it can feel to take a leap of faith toward your dreams. (especially when you have to work to make art/live)

So very proud to share that it will be officially screening internationally for the very first time through @cultureartsociety and @monangambee ‘s “Spectral Grounds” Black Experimental Film Exhibition Sep. 20 - 26th.

Can’t wait for those of you who haven’t seen it to see my baby.

Big thank you to my amazing team:

After almost one year of writing, proof of concept, two light tests, table reads, auditions, rehearsals, preproduction and lockdown back in march we wrapped shooting The Alley, the story about a successful heist led by two inexperienced thieves that becomes a nightmare after kidnapping the only witness.

I can't thank everyone who was part of this project enough. The amazing crew, incredible actors, the Longfellow House, the Indie-Gogo backers, and of course Scott, Matt and Jerome. Thank you for helping bring my first script together. 🙏🏻

Specially PJ, who's been by my side on this since day one. Bouncing from producer to actor to Cinematographer and moral support. Thank you Brother.

Now it's time to take a short break and start working on the editing.

My name is Thalia Esparza, and I’m a multi-media artist. I’m into making sculptural Installations, along with digital film making. Most of my work is personal based and the environment I’m in.

I look up to a lot different artists in different categories. My friends are honestly the people Im inspired by. I look up like my friend Catalina, who makes ceramic sculptures and people in my community such as Edgar Saner who is Latino illustration artist, Lorena Cruz who makes pieces about personal experiences and her culture.

I’m currently based in Detroit, MI until further notice. There’s a lot of creative shit going on it the 313. It’s an honor to even be caught up in the mix of it all.

My career is such a flexible one that I’m willing to go anywhere. I enjoy the human experience. I find happiness and art in the company of others. There so much to learn also from this earth. I’m excited to just be free of school already and get out there.
