POV: The Inner thoughts of an Event Producer when they attend an event 😆

There was a trend circulating socials showing the behind the scenes of a planner’s brain while they’re experiencing an event, so naturally, @destination_toronto, @seeusoontravel and I had to jump on. We recorded some of my very real, very unfiltered reflective moments while attending @cemaonline in Toronto.

And the funny part? If you’ve ever attended an event with me, you know this is 100% authentically me.

Dance floor. Concert. Dinner. Networking event. Conference.
My brain is ALWAYS ticking.

... Why did that work so well?
... What made the energy shift?
... What would I add?
... “Yes, AND…”?

This is a tiny peek inside an event producer’s brain.
And producers/planners… am I right or am I right?!

Thirty years ago, CANFAR’s first-ever Bloor Street Entertains brought together a passionate community with one shared goal: to help end HIV/AIDS.

As we get set to celebrate #BSE30 this November 19, we’re looking back at where it all began. These photos from the very first Bloor Street Entertains capture the spirit of generosity, connection, and community that continues to define this event three decades later.

On Nov. 19, 2026, more than 20 dinners will take place across the @blooryorkville neighbourhood, ushering in a milestone 30th anniversary of CANFAR’s signature fundraiser. The atmosphere of each dinner is delicately handcrafted by our incredible venue, culinary, floral & decor partners, with every last detail selected to create elegant experiences for our over 1,000 guests.

Now more than ever, we need to come together to support people most impacted by HIV. Under-resourced communities are experiencing rapidly rising rates and increased barriers to care, reminding us of the importance of funding innovative research and implementing community-based programs that expand equitable access to HIV testing and linkages to care.

Our amazing co-chairs @sylviamantella, @jl.fricker, @candice_t_sinclair and @michaelliebrock are back alongside an incredibly passionate & hardworking group of honourary chairs and committee members—all of whom are carrying on the legacy of the first BSE all the way back in 1997. Their dedication to our cause is truly inspiring, and we are honoured to have them advocating for CANFAR’s mission to end HIV in Canada.

Dinner tickets, tables, and tickets for the biggest-ever after party @romtoronto are available now at canfar.com/bse. We can’t wait to see you there!
