She helped shape the work. Now she gets to hold a piece of its history. 🧡💙 ADI founder Kam Hinson hand-delivered our inaugural annual report to Ameerah Balogun, former UF Black Student Union president and now an MPH student at Emory University. When DEI funding losses threatened support for Black student programming, we worked closely with student leaders like Ameerah to understand their needs and help keep cherished traditions thriving. This report reflects what students, alumni, and supporters made possible together. Their reunion in Downtown Decatur included a stop at the statue of Congressman John Lewis, a meaningful reminder that we stand on our ancestors’ shoulders as we invest in those coming next. Thank you, Ameerah, for your leadership. We’re cheering you on in this next chapter! #AncestorsDreamInitiative #BlackUF #BlackGators #BlackStudentLeadership

In early 2025, UF’s Black Student Union asked alumni for help after new DEI laws limited funding for key Spring events. Alumni stepped up. That moment led our founder and fellow alumni to create an independent nonprofit so supporters could make tax-deductible donations to sustain Black student-led programs. By May 2025, Ancestors Dream Initiative was born. In just seven months, ADI has supported hundreds of Black UF students by sponsoring essential program needs and partnering directly with student leaders. What started as a moment of need became a movement of intention and community. And we are just getting started. Links in bio. #ProtectTheLegacy #FundTheDream

Bible Study Cam 💌 | April 6 ‘Now listen daughter, pay attention pray and listen—- 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 ….to be surrounded by a group of women who love the Lord, seek after Him, put down the ways of the world and follow Him sincerely🥹 …to fellowship with other believers …to know that I am saved by grace through faith. Grace that is unmerited, unearned, undeserving, favour from God. Shown when my Savior Jesus died on the cross for me, the greatest act of love that I may be pardoned of my sins, forgiven, and receive the gift of salvation. That I may have relationship with the Him and be gifted with the Holy Spirit to abide in Him as He in me. That I may dwell with Him for the rest of eternity. The Lord lives within me. …I received 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝 when I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Thank you Jesus! All glory and honour to You forever and ever. 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙

‘Heaven on Earth with the Father…‘ | lost Bible Study files ✞📸 ‘What you think about love?—— 1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ | ”Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.“ And I 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 my neighbour who strives after God and seeks Him first above all else 🫵🏽💗💗💗

💌 | 1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬, ‭18‬, ‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭ “We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. “ “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” “And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.“ ——-> You can talk the talk of loving others but it’s in how you treat others around you. Love is showcased through your actions. To lay down our lives and our desires and crucify our flesh daily to follow in the will of God shows Him our love for Him. In the same manner we must lay down our life for others as well. [John 15-13]

Bible Study Cam #3 Studying: 1 John 2: 7-14 Key Bible Verses/Takeaways: 1 John continues to highlight the importance of loving God and loving others, the most important commandments of the Lord. This in turn teaches how to live our lives as disciples of Christ following in the example Jesus set. To run this race set before us WITH God and to take heed to the Holy Spirit that He has given us as a gift. Walking this walk of Faith isn’t easy especially being on this narrow road but with God we are able to endure and not grow weary. ‘We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith’ Deuteronomy‬ ‭6‬:‭5‬ | ”And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.“ ‭‭ Leviticus‬ ‭19‬:‭18‬ | “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.“ ‭‭ Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭ | “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.“ ‭‭ ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭28‬-‭31‬ ‭| ”Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.“

Key Takeaways from Today’s Bible study: There is a POWER in the word of our Testimony! We all have a story. God knows our story, every bit of what we have experienced seen and unseen and He knows and remembers our name… every number has a name, every name has a story and every story matters to God. Everything that we go through, endure as believers is for the betterment of God’s kingdom. It’s necessary and way bigger than us because the word of our testimony is able to help others. Jesus died so that we don’t have to live in shame and guilt. We don’t have to pay the price for it. There is healing found in God, there is power in the word of our testimony, God makes us clean with the blood of the lamb. John 3:16 Revelations 12:11 | ”And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.“ This song exemplifies that: It was all working for my good If only I knew back then what I know right now Nothing is wasted in Your hands God You didn’t forsake me And I know You never will When I should’ve lost my mind You showed up right on time Carried me through the valley All the way on the other side When pain tried to take my joy That’s when I felt You more Now I’ve gotta testify God you kept my heart alive I didn’t know if I’d survived I gave up so many times You kept my heart alive”
