After Dark

2021

Tracks Of Choice: After Dark / Half-Life / Offworld (feat Pylot) / Downfall (feat Lexi Norton) / Empire Of Steel (feat Scandroid) / Lost Boys (feat Young Medicine)

Phew...managed to get through so many records. It's been a hell of a weekend of music that's for sure.

Back to new stuff. Or relatively new stuff.

I've been digging Essenger recently. Empire Of Steel was featured on a YouTube documentary about Cyberpunk literature, movies and games. And I was a little shocked I'd not heard of him or his music bearing in mind my love of Synthwave and Retrowave.

So I started listening and I basically binged his catalogue for days on end. So I thought I'd find some physical releases. The vinyl I found on Discogs was fairly reasonable but the seller wouldn't ship to the UK.

But I could get the CD through Essenger's Bandcamp! Win.

If you like the style of Gunship, FM-84, The Midnight, Timecop1983 or Carpenter Brut I reckon you'd like this.

So here we go. Some Synthwave for a Tuesday!

I've loved this style for so long but was never able to get quite the look I wanted whenever I tried. I recently learned a Photoshop technique that got me exactly what I've been wanting to do for years! Now I'm going back through my library and bringing new life to some of my images and reliving a ton of concert memories. Enjoy!
