Almost 4 years ago I began working on my first personal project as an analog photographer called “Girls Love Retro”. On April 24, 2022 the very first shoot was taken (80s production) and since then this journey has been full of trial & tribulations.

This process has taught me a lot about myself, the beauty of growth, and taking an idea and manifesting it into reality. Throughout the years I have been faced with self-doubt, fear, perfectionism, and loss. Doubt that my work wasn’t good ready enough to share, fear of being perceived a way if I didn’t complete the project in its entirety, and perfectionism that lead to analysis paralysis. A lot of the time as creatives we allow this negative constraints to creep in and hold us back from experiencing the productive results of the hard work we put into our craft. From the effort, energy, time, and resources.

So I want to start off 2026 by encouraging all creatives who may face or have faced the same obstacles, and challenges: PUT THAT PROJECT OUT. SEE YOUR VISION THROUGH, COLLAB WITH OTHER CREATIVES, BELIEVE IN THE IDEA & TRUST THE PROCESS 🙏🏾

From The Valley to Medellín 🇨🇴

Ten years ago (to the day) we moved into our Howard dorm rooms. To fast forward ten years later with a core friend group is a privilege. To do it with this friend group is a blessing. Shout out to friends turned family. 🫶🏽
