Loads of variations that you can do with this setup to practice different types of lateral movement.

2024 in sports photography!

A tap into hockey with @hifk_naiset - just a game, hopeful to get some more chances in the future.

I was way too overscheduled to spend time with @roosterswomenfootball but seeing them on the field was an absolute joy, and here's hoping for better chances and more games in the summer of 2025!

Absolutely fell for @helsinkirugbyclubw this season - what a bunch of athletes. Felt like I belonged, and rugby is an absolute blast to photograph as well. Rugby will definitely be my main thing to photograph in the future!

Then the last roller derby photography run at the WFTDA Champs with my home away from home, @victorianrollerderbyleague . I could not hope or ask for a better ending than with these people. Thank you for such an amazing weekend, love you to the moon and back. 💙

2025 - definitely rugby, hopefully football - who knows what else?

Finding different ways to practice the skills that we work on in your technical sessions is fun. This kind of thing is a nice bridge between deliberate practice and open games.

Easy way to get athletes making decisions and sprinting at the same time. Always have them chase each other. Even better if one of them is holding a ball.

Silly and fun usually has a purpose in learning. Body control, controlling an external object that's unpredictable, uncommon movement patterns and communication are all boxes I would tick with things like this.

Gathering the ball is something that is often overlooked when players start rugby as adults. We use games and races to encourage safe, effective ways to protect the body and the ball as you pick up loose balls.

An easy game we do for warm up and strength training. Always brings laughter and intensity at the same time. Loads of variations for this by just changing the task.

Strength, stability and a good laugh. Give it a go at training.

Wrestle. It's fun and it builds strength in dynamic movement situations that you're going to use in rugby matches.

Another fun one for developing acceleration and change of direction in chaos.

There's a space for working on technique, but there's also a space for just chasing each other. Use both.
