Cambria truly is the gem of the central California coast! The “moonstone” to be specific 💎😉🌊🥧🌷 I absolutely fell in love with the historical seaside village of Cambria, and all the incredible things it has to offer: peace, tranquility, stunning rugged coastlines, eclectic history!

We’ve been up and down Highway 1 many times, and this was our first time here, and will certainly be a tradition! Upon researching, I discovered so many fascinating things. there was once a shipwreck here, it was a mining & lodging town, it has a lot of British influence (the name Cambria is actually Welsh) and the old saloon has roots from the 1920 prohibition days.

There are so many wonderful quaint businesses in town, they preserve the space, and it is very “bite sized” which makes it personal and easier to soak in than its touristy counterparts! Those sunsets on moonstone beach are absolutely stunning! So grateful to live in the spectacular state of California and experience its beauty. Have you been? 🤍

Did you know there is a magical place in Japan where deer bow to you? They are considered sacred divine messengers, and it is surreal being amongst 1,300 deer than you can feed and pet 🥹🦌 Nara was one of my favorite things I’ve ever done! 🙏🏼

Why do Okinawans live longer than anywhere else on earth? It’s a question I set out to explore in the “Blue Zone” of Okinawa. Some people have their theories on social groups they maintain their entire lives, their nutritious diet, or perhaps incredibly rich Yambaru forest. I think it is their concept of “Ikigai”; living one’s life purpose.

We stayed at the fantastic @okinawa.oriental.hotel on the northern part of the island. It’s a luxury resort that maintains the integrity of Yambaru; embracing visitors to come while not taking away from its beauty. There are so many incredible amenities including their stunning pools, dining options full of Okinawan delicacies, fresh fruit and everything you could ever imagine, and stunning views of the water from the balconies. You really don’t need to leave the resort in order to experience Okinawa, but if you do, they have some great experiences like @nakayama.coffee.farm where you can roast and brew your own coffee. Okinawa is a dream come true, and if you visit the main island, @okinawa.oriental.hotel is the best place to experience the beauty of this incredible land and culture!

I wish for everyone to find their “ikigai” and enjoy each day with joy and purpose 🙏🏼🌊🇯🇵
