10 days post Chicago Marathon has given me plenty of time to reflect on everything from race week. Race day efforts aside, @demonhrs had an incredible week. From a pre-marathon activation with @svrnshop and @on to running back our ‘Break Bread’ event with @beautifuldayrunclub and @chicagoruncollective, to hosting a shakeout with @247represent..we were active and busy. It’s been really cool to see DH evolve into this living and breathing thing that not only provides a space for people to get better/find community…but also gets to work with awesome brands in the creative and experiential production realms. When I originally created DH, none of these things ever crossed my mind. It was simply something to help me stay disciplined while actively seeking discomfort, in hopes of personal and professional growth. The stakes are a lot different now working with brands, producing events/campaigns and guiding others every week. It’s a lot more responsibility and the type that improves all aspects of your life. Always have to remember that at one point a couple years ago, I was asking for this. And none of this is done alone. I’m forever grateful for this team and everybody that’s a proximity of it. High tides truly raise all ships and you all have done that for DH and everyone that interacts with the brand. Can’t wait to see where this thing keeps going. Chicago Marathon 2026, shot from miles 22 & 24. Part 1 This has become one of my favorite sporting events to shoot. I love coming back every year and finding new ways to capture it, experimenting with edits, playing with angles, and just having fun with the process. Chicago Marathon 2026. There is something incredibly moving about watching thousands of strangers come together to cheer for people they’ve never met. People who, at some point along those 26.2 miles, probably questioned whether they had anything left to give. And yet, when their bodies and minds told them to stop, there were strangers on the sidelines reminding them they are strong enough. In a world that feels increasingly divided, where it’s so easy to focus on everything that separates us, moments like these feel more important than ever. For a few hours, none of those differences seem to matter. Strangers become each other’s biggest supporters, celebrating victories that aren’t their own and finding joy in watching someone else succeed. This is a powerful reminder that we will always be stronger and achieve more when we are united. Congratulations to everyone courageous enough to step foot on the track yesterday.
