I've never been more sure that God is using me!!

Two weeks ago I was in our youth office goofing around and I wrote "Vannin Collister Student Ministries Director" on a whiteboard. Last week the day before we left for our mission trip, I was told that our actual Student Ministries Director Caleb was sick and could not make it on the trip. As a joke I told everyone that I was the temporary Student Ministries Director for the week. What I didn't expect is that God would actually allow me to live into that role.

First, I ended up filling in for Caleb's worship duties, playing the guitar, leading the group in worship alongside my friends. The worship times were filled with the holy spirit. The students were making moshpits and jumping and clapping in one moment. In another moment they were intimately worshipping and praying with one another. I was so grateful to have been a part of that.

This year I was a part of the VBS ministry. We put on a 3-day kids camp for all the kids in the town of El Roble. I partnered with translators to lead the kids and the rest of my team in games. I even had the opportunity to share my testimony with some boys over some lunch. We spent a lot of time pouring into these kids and made a huge impact, even with a language barrier.

I found myself naturally leading my peers. I encouraged people around me to go the extra mile by talking to the people they don't normally talk to, or challenging people in their groups with questions about their faith. I also led a devotional on the last day at the camp, and set the tone for personal and group reflection on God's amazing work on this trip.

I'm very grateful for how God used me. He showed up in ways I never could've imagined. I share none of this to brag, but to display how Christ lives in me, and how he can live in you too. Galatians 2:20- My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
