We are pleased to announce the artists awarded funded Castlefield Gallery Associates memberships after our open call earlier this year.

30 new 12-month memberships have been awarded to artists living in the North West and/or working across the wider North of England.

A huge thank you to everyone who applied, and to The Fenton Arts Trust, alongside our core funders Manchester City Council and Arts Council England, for making this support possible.

Castlefield Gallery Associates continues to support artists through opportunities for connection, development, critical dialogue, and professional practice at all stages of their careers.

There are just a few days left to visit Remember Nature, a group exhibition at Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces Chester featuring artists from the UK and beyond, inspired by the visionary initiative of the same name instigated by artist Gustav Metzger in 2015.

This exhibition brings together a diverse range of artists whose practices reflect on and respond to the natural world, its fragility, and our relationship with it. The works offer gentle, thoughtful, and confrontational interpretations, emphasising the wonder, vulnerability, and quiet resilience of nature.

The exhibition is curated by Estelle Woolley @estellewoolley and Jill Walker @jillwalker.uk

Exhibiting artists: Steve Carrick, Nick Davies, Tim Foxon, Tim Johnson, Melanie K King, Olana Light, Xinyue Ma & Alexander Collinson, Jamie Mills, Lydia O’hara, Tim Pugh, Nina Sinkkonen Kotala, Steve Sutton, Nathan Taylor, Jill Walker, Estelle Woolley

🗓️ 1 – 9 November 2025

📍Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces: Chester, Unit 12, Grosvenor Shopping Centre, Chester, CH1 1ED (open Sat, Sun, Wed, Fri, all 1-4pm)

My work "I Become the Island" will be on display alongside an impressive selection of artists at @castlefieldgall New Art Space Chester (the old Topshop).

PV Tuesday 4th November 4-6pm.

The exhibition will be open 1st to 9th November 1-4pm.

Remember Nature is a group exhibition featuring artists from the UK and beyond, inspired by the Remember Nature Day of Action: an initiative originally instigated by artist Gustav Metzger in 2015. Now observed worldwide each year on November 4th, the day invites creatives across disciplines to respond to the climate crisis with care and imagination.

This exhibition brings together a diverse range of artists whose practices reflect on and respond to the natural world, its fragility, and our relationship with it. The works offer gentle, thoughtful, and also confrontational interpretations, emphasising the wonder, vulnerability, and quiet resilience of nature.

Curated by artists Estelle Woolley and Jill Walker whose own practices are rooted in a slow, tactile engagement with natural materials, the exhibition features artists whose work both complements and contrasts with these sensibilities, fostering a dialogue between different approaches and mediums.

There are fantastic visual artists all over the city. While you're visiting Chester Contemporary please look out for other events in the city.

Some are tagged #CCfringe

There are venues next to the Topshop for University of Chester and Chester Visual Arts. Work in Rainbow Tea Rooms and Storyhouse as well as Stigma Tattoo.

It's official, Millie is a UoC student! 🎓🐱

Her ID card is pride of place at the Seaborne library helpdesk. Come and take a look, if you're lucky you may find Millie having a snooze. 💤

Thank you @estellewoolley for making her lanyard and card
