Some weekends are simply too special for words, yet you never want to forget a single detail.

This past weekend, we gathered in Nisswa to watch my oldest nephew marry the love of his life. Seeing the little boy we’ve loved for all these years standing there, ready to begin a lifetime with the woman he loves, was almost more than my heart could handle. There was laughter, happy tears, sooo much dancing, and the kind of memories you wish you could freeze in time.

Somewhere in the middle of all of it, I realized this could very well be the last summer with all four of my kids home. That realization hits a mama’s heart in a way that’s hard to explain. This weekend felt like both a beautiful beginning and a tender reminder that these seasons of life are precious and pass far too quickly.

What a privilege it is to love people so deeply that the passage of time can bring both happy tears and an overflowing heart. My heart is full. My family is everything. And my cup runneth over and over and over. ❤️

For years, I wished time would slow down. Today, I wish I could relive it all again. Congratulations, Tanner! Watching you become the young man you are today has been the honor of a lifetime. 👨🏼‍🎓💖

Eighteen… There is something so surreal about watching your boy become a man.

Tanner, from the very beginning, you have loved me so openly and so fiercely. The hugs, the “I love yous,” the way you still reach for me even as you’ve grown taller, stronger, and more independent… those are gifts I have never once taken for granted. Being your mom has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

This birthday looks a little different than any of us imagined. Watching you walk through this injury and surgery has been heartbreaking at times, especially knowing how much hockey means to you and how much you had looked forward to this season of your life. But even in the uncertainty, I have never doubted this: your story is still unfolding exactly the way God intended it to. What feels like a pause right now is not the end of anything beautiful He has planned for you.

You are loved so deeply. Not because of what you accomplish, how hard you work, or who you become, but simply because of who you are. A son with the kindest heart, the sweetest soul, and a love for his family that runs deep.

No matter how old you get, you will always be my boy.

Happy 18th Birthday, my love. I cherish and love you beyond measure ~ Always & Forever. 💖

Senior spring break in Playa del Carmen will forever be etched in my heart. There’s something about these “lasts” that just hits differently. Soaking in every moment with you, Tanner… because I know how fast this all goes. #asombroso
