It still says spring on the calendar, but the city is starting to move like it’s summer.

You feel it in the air. In the way people linger a little longer on sidewalks. In the instinct to grab something cold and stay outside without checking the time. That shift showed up @decadeslancaster Ice Cream Bar Season Opening & Shifty Release !

With the Ice Cream Bar officially open for the season, the space took on a different pace. The patio filled in slowly, then all at once. Groups filtered in after work, friends met up without much of a plan, and families and couples folded into the same shared space.

That soft kind of energy that only shows up when the weather finally starts to cooperate.

An ice cream cone in hand changes things. No urgency, no rush. Just the night unfolding on its own terms.

Inside and out, Decades felt open again. And then something new slipped into the mix.

@timeforashifty Lemon Iced Tea with vodka arrived without needing an introduction. Crisp, citrus-forward, easy to drink. The kind you reach for when the air is warm but not heavy, when you’re not quite in summer yet but close enough to start acting like it. It didn’t try to stand out. It just settled in.

That balance carried the night. Ice cream pulling people into something familiar. A drink marking the shift into what’s next. Both meeting in the same space, shaping how it felt without needing to say anything out loud.

Places like this don’t just respond to the season. They help define it.

The Ice Cream Bar opening is a signal that something has shifted, even if summer hasn’t officially arrived yet.

Lancaster is moving into one of its best seasons. And that the spaces we return to year after year still know how to meet us where we are. And that sometimes, the simplest things, an ice cream cone, a cold drink, a place to sit outside, are enough to bring people back into the same moment.

One day you’re still catching up on everything the year asked of you, and the next you can feel December tugging at your sleeve, reminding you that the season is already here. Before the pace picks up and everyone gets swept into a million things at once, @decadeslancaster created a moment for people to slow down together.

Inside, the atmosphere carried the kind of warmth that makes you want to settle in instead of rush through. Conversations unfolded without hurry. Laughter moved across the room. People who spend their year planning, organizing, and showing up for the community finally had a chance to breathe. That was the hope behind the gathering. To give everyone space to acknowledge the season arriving and step into it feeling grounded instead of overwhelmed.

And honestly, that’s who Decades is for Lancaster. They’ve become a celebration destination not because of the games or the bowling or the food, but because of the way they make people feel the moment they walk in. Whether it’s a tiny gathering, a big office party, or someone’s milestone moment, the space stays welcoming and inclusive. People feel like they belong, and that energy sets the tone for every celebration that follows.

That feeling carried through the entire night. Groups lingered long after eating. People floated between conversations like they were catching up with old friends. Laughter rose in warm little pockets across the room. It felt like the beginning of the holiday season in the best possible way. Not rushed. Not chaotic. If you have ever thought of libraries as quiet places tucked away from the world, Librewry at the @lancasterpubliclibrary might have changed your mind. For one unforgettable evening, the library became Lancaster’s most unexpected nightlife destination, an adults-only happy hour that celebrated not just books and learning, but the spirit of connection that gives this city its heartbeat.

From the moment you stepped through the doors, you could feel the shift. The scent of sizzling food from @haloseatery717, fragrant rice bowls from @extra_rice_pa, and the warm, buttery pull of soft pretzels from @lancastersoftpretzel drifted in from @ewellplaza. The usual hush of the library gave way to the hum of conversation and the steady pulse of DJ Aaron Lee’s curated mix.

Between the stacks, people sipped cocktails from @thistlefinchdistillery, sampled local brews from @springhousebeer, and raised glasses of wine from @waltzvineyardsestate, toasting to the magic of seeing a familiar space transformed.

Every corner of the library felt alive. People wandered the shelves, rediscovered old favorites, and caught up with friends.

What made Librewry special was not just the drinks or the music. It was the sense of possibility. For one night, the LPL reminded everyone that libraries are more than repositories of knowledge. They hold the rare power to bring together people who might not otherwise cross paths.

That sense of togetherness was everywhere. It felt like Lancaster at its best.

Libraries, like communities, thrive when they evolve. They are living spaces that mirror the people they serve. LPL has long been a cornerstone of access and education, but events like this show that it is also a space for joy, discovery, and celebration.

There was music, there was laughter, but most of all, there was gratitude. Gratitude for a #library that dares to reimagine what it means to be a public space. Gratitude for a city that continues to show up for one another in every corner, from classrooms to plazas to the heart of the stacks.

It was hard not to feel proud, proud to live in a city where the library is not just a place to borrow books, but a place to belong.

There are dance parties, and then there are portals, spaces that pull you into something deeper than music, where energy shifts, masks drop, and the night unfolds with a rhythm that isn’t about keeping up, but about letting go. That’s what RE/POSE has always been. And now, it’s back.

With a new home at An Droichead inside @tellus360, RE/POSE re/turns with all the edge, intimacy, and intention it was known for and with a fresh face at the mic: @mentalia666 joins hosts @n38u14 and @djstygian in shaping the next chapter of a space that’s never been easy to define.

RE/POSE is a celebration of everything queer and alt, everything that doesn’t fit neatly inside the Pride month playlists or the mainstream drag stage.

It’s art, kink, body, rage, and play, often all in one performance. And then the dance floor opens back up, not for hype but for release.

More than anything, RE/POSE holds space. Space for the ones who’ve always lingered at the edges of the queer party scene. The goths, the kinksters, the gender-blurred and beautifully messy. Those who want connection without commodification. Those who are tired of spaces that feel curated for consumption instead of community.

And that care shows in everything from the intentional lighting and fog machines that transform the room, to the de-gendered bathrooms, to the posted code of respect: no racism, no transphobia, no body-shaming, no bullshit. Ask before touching. Dancing is not consent. Existing is enough.

With guest performers like @derrriere , a rotating lineup of hosts, and bartenders who feel more like co-conspirators than servers, RE/POSE is a living, breathing gathering of queer energy.

It’s not the loudest room in the city. But for those of us who find magic in shadow, who crave dance without expectation and drag without rules, RE/POSE is exactly what we’ve been waiting for.

Somewhere between the music and the fog, we found each other.

Every second Thursday at Tellus360, the door opens. The fog rolls in. The music hums low. And just like that, we re/turn.
