🇪🇪Team @mortenfilm are coming to London!

We are delighted to confirm Morten’s principal cast trio @toruknme @helenamariareisner @_konradkose will attend the LBFF opening event on 13 November, followed by a Q&A session after the screening.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience the film on the big screen and engage with the talent.

The film is a coming-of-age story and follows Morten as he’s pulled between reality and myth, first love and the choices that come with growing up.

🇪🇪🎬Our Erika is Estonia’s official submission for the 99th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

The inspiring biopic follows Olympic track cyclist Erika Salumäe from an orphaned childhood through the Soviet sporting system to two Olympic gold medals at the 1988 Seoul Games and, four years later in Barcelona, right after Estonia regained its independence. Behind the record times and medals, the film searches for the person underneath and examines what winning has cost her.

Dead Mountaineer's Hotel by Grigori Kromanov | 6 November, 8:40–10:10 pm, ICA

An eerie guesthouse in the snowy hills, an anonymous tip and an inspector who soon finds that nothing is quite as it seems. Grigori Kromanov’s “Dead Mountaineer’s Hotel” (Estonia/USSR, 1979) is a cult sci-fi oddity, blending a noirish detective story with an extra-terrestrial encounter tale. Based on the Strugatskys’ 1970 novel and released the same year as Tarkovsky’s Stalker, it features Jüri Järvet, striking modernist set design and a surprisingly progressive take on gender fluidity.

Screening as part of After Utopia (6-13 November), co-presented with Klassiki @klassiki.online . Part of Cinema Rediscovered on Tour @cineredis , a Watershed project @w_shed , with the support of the Embassy of Estonia in the UK @estoniainuk .

A genre-bending classic of Estonian Cinema underlaid with a psychedelic synth score, Dead Mountaineer's Hotel ('Hukkunud Alpinisti' hotell) is coming to venues across the UK as part of Cinema Rediscovered 10 on Tour!

Catch it in London at the ICA, Home Manchester, Eden Court Inverness and King Street Cinema Ipswich over November and December.

Täna kohtus välisminister Margus Tsahkna Londonis Ühendkuningriigi välisministri Ed Milibandiga, et arutada kaitsekoostöö tihendamist, Ukraina toetamist ja Venemaa survestamist.

Euroopa julgeoleku jaoks on oluline saavutada Ukrainas püsiv ja õiglane rahu. Selleks omakorda tuleb Ukrainale tagada kõik vajalik enda kaitsmiseks ning suurendada survet Venemaale. Agressiooni jätkamise hind peab olema Venemaa jaoks kõrgem kui selle lõpetamise hind. Ühendkuningriigi ja Euroopa Liidu sanktsioonid on seejuures võtmetähtsusega.

Ministrid rääkisid ka 2027. aasta jaanuaris Eestis toimuvast Ukraina ülesehituskonverentsist ja võimalustest teha selles valdkonnast senisest enam koostööd. Ukraina ülesehitamine ei saa oodata sõja lõppu, sest hädavajalikku abi ja ka lootust tuleb ukrainlastele anda juba praegu.

Homme jätkab välisminister Londonis Euroopa julgeoleku arutelusid GZERO Summitil ja mõttekojas RUSI.

A little taste of Setomaa 🇪🇪✨

We stopped at Verska Resto in Värska and tried so many beautiful dishes — local fish soup, fried smelts, tasting tacos, zander with crispy potato and trout roe, duck with cauliflower and figs, and syrniki for dessert.

I loved how the menu mixed local ingredients with a more modern style. Definitely one of the food stops I’ll remember from this trip. 🤍 #estonia #visitestonia #setomaa #restaurant #värska

Meet Silver 🧼🇪🇪

Silver is a Seto soap maker in Setomaa and the man behind the wonderfully colorful Vana Jüri Seebipood.

The moment you arrive, you can tell this isn’t an ordinary soap shop. The building, bicycles, shelves and even the furniture are covered in bright hand-painted designs, while inside you’ll find shelves filled with different handmade soaps.

But my favorite part of traveling around Setomaa has been meeting the people behind these places. Silver welcomed us into his little shop, showed us around, and gave us another glimpse into life and creativity in this unique corner of Estonia. 🤍

One evening in Setomaa, we were welcomed into this tiny candlelit church beside Eevi’s home. 🕯️

Inside were old icons, traditional textiles, handwritten messages from visitors, and the warm glow of candles filling the little wooden room.

But what I’ll remember most is Eevi herself. We had only just met, yet she welcomed us so warmly and shared this special place with us.

Before we left, she invited us to join her at church the next morning… and that ended up becoming an experience I never expected. 🤍

Setomaa keeps reminding me that sometimes the most meaningful travel moments aren’t the ones you plan. They’re the people you meet along the way.

At Värska Farm Museum, we learned how to make traditional Seto 🇪🇪 cheese called, sõir 🧀. Sõir isn’t just any normal cheese— this traditional Setomaa cheese is so culturally important that the name became an EU-protected geographical indication in 2021. Seto sõir is so tied to this region that its name is protected by the EU — kind of like Champagne in France. There is no other place in the world besides Setomaa, where you can get Seto sõir 🧀 #estonia #visitestonia #traditionalcheese #eesti #cheesemaking

In Setomaa, I got to meet Paul and Terje Sõrmus, a wonderful Seto couple who make handmade drinks on a farm that has been in Paul’s family for over 200 years. 😳🌿

At Uma Tettü, they make everything from handmade lemonades and organic blackcurrant juice to Seto taar (a traditional fermented drink), alcohol-free mocktails, glögi, and wellness shots.

What I loved most is how connected everything is to the land and Seto traditions. Many of the ingredients are grown right on the farm or gathered locally, making the drinks both natural and uniquely Setomaa. ❤️🇪🇪 Learn more: umatettu.ee
