✨ Vinyls of ‘Vari’ album are out! ✨
and available on @groundupmusicny website!
I have waited for this day to share this sweet news with you all, and to celebrate the record’s 2nd year anniversary, which is today!

Every moment of this music, since its conception, its birth, and its journey so far, has been fulfilling and gratifying. My heart is filled with gratitude for all the love, support, and nurturing, that this baby has received from all around the world.

Special love and gratitude to one of the most kind people that I have had the honour of meeting, Rusty Edwards, a devotee of music and supporter of indie music, who so kindly volunteered to support this music by funding the entire process of the manufacturing of these vinyls, and making this long time dream come true - this is a precious first for me.

I received the first copies earlier this January while I was participating in @michaelleagueplaysmusic’s residency at @bluenotenyc , and the feeling of holding it in my hands was inexplicable.

I express my gratitude to every musician, technician, artists of various fields, friends, and family, for blessing this project with their gifts.
Huge shoutout to these gems :
@michaelleagueplaysmusic @pramathkiran @nic.hard @mcsnare @groundupmusicny @vinodgowda

I am sharing this joy through a collection of snippets and pictures, reminiscing the journey of the making of ‘Vari’, and celebrating the universal healing and binding force - MUSIC.

Always, seeking for an eternal creative flow..
Love and light,
Vari

STANDING STILL
inspiration #10

Every song has a story, a spark of inspiration that shaped it into what you hear. ✨

Fourth track to explore: Standing Still 🤍

I might be biased, but this is definitely one of my favorites from the record.

I originally wrote Standing Still for one of the songwriting groups led by @beccastevensbsb , and it’s the song that convinced me there’s a story to tell thorough an album I need to make.

This song kept evolving right up until the moment we recorded it at @estudivint last October. It wouldn’t be what it is without the incredible contributions of everyone involved ❤️‍🔥

Walking in silence
Was lost in the forest
I heard the trees
Whisper all around

Wasn’t looking for answers
Until they told me:
“Now is the time
To leave the past behind”

Studio moments from October 2023.
Lost releases on Friday.

🤍🎶 LOST is only a few days away! 🎶🤍

Like many songs on the upcoming record, 'Lost' was born from a personal experience that had been buried deep in the back of my mind, only to resurface in adulthood.

A few years ago, due to an unfortunate Covid episode, my brother-in-law couldn’t go on a long-planned vacation – and I was the lucky one to get his ticket to Barcelona. Ha! So, I went on this trip with my sister and my parents.
We had a precious family vacation that I’ll always cherish, as it gave me a new chance to connect as an adult with the people I spent my childhood with. Forever grateful for that!

P.S. My brother-in-law @georgebakos recovered in a couple of days.

P.P.S. When I went to Barcelona, I had no idea that less than two years later I’d be back there to record this song and my whole album with the band of my dreams 🤍 Life truly is the best screenwriter.

Need more cross references? :D

'Aurea', my latest single started to take shape back in 2021, a heavy year following a long period of separation during the pandemic.

As a music therapist, I’ve always believed in the power of sound and music to help us connect with our deepest emotions. For me, 'Aurea' became a personal lantern—a guiding anthem that allowed me to fully embrace my vulnerability and creativity.

The moments captured here—books, gifts, people, and experiences that shaped me along the way—are woven into the fabric of my songwriting. Each one brought me closer to this vision.

Through 'Aurea', I’ve reminded myself that music isn’t just about notes; it’s an invitation to feel, express, and connect deeply. ✨❤️‍🔥

I hope you feel that same invitation when you listen to the song, which is the title track of my upcoming album (releasing on November 15th).
The single is streaming on all platforms now and there's a beautiful Lyric Video on YouTube for you to watch too! 💜

In honor of Songwriters’ Day, let me tell you a bit about my song ‘Aurea.’

Aurea isn’t a person, it’s more like an inspired state, a heartfelt wish. You could say it’s my muse.
I imagine it as a golden light that suddenly shines and surrounds the artist during the creative process—because art, including a song, doesn’t truly belong to the creator. They’re just shaping a gift, a seed of an idea.

A year ago, we found the final form of this song at the Estudi Vint studio, and it’s still one of my favorites from the upcoming album. (As I told you earlier, I might say that about every song, ha!)
It means a lot to me because it encapsulates the transformation I feel each time I get to do what I love most. ✨

On October 18, the second single will be released, featuring the title track and a beautiful cover illustration by @anka.lang
