Memories were made… So was a suspicious amount of money🤑

It’s been two weeks, good time to go over the IR Offroad After Action Review for Friday, March 27th.

The goal was to combine a night shoot with offroad NVG training over two nights in the Arizona desert.

Friday night: steel from 25-150yd illuminated with chem lights, 3 different steel challenges, one per starting obstacle:
Tripods: 100yd C-zone alternating with carbine KYL hits
VTACs: 1 hit on the 25yd Dueling Tree from 6 different ports
Work platform: engage the whole field from close to far
Unlimited runs, fastest time at each enters the OpsCore/Doko draw.
During which, RZR and ebikes were shuttling back and forth to the Offroad circuit: a winding, chem lit loop of 2-track in the desert about 5 minutes from the shooting bay. Everyone in the RZR would switch spots/drivers after each lap.

However messy the range may have been initially (due to my failure to delegate well), ultimately this night was a huge success and everyone enjoyed how the combination played out. Overall value was high enough that Friday night Fall ‘26 will be fairly similar but with better organization and even more steel/steel challenges.

Improvements:
- Middle bay of the range would have reduced transit time to the Offroad circuit to ~60 seconds. Thought we needed the extra distance offered by the East bay but steel challenges were brought closer anyway.
- Dedicated ROs: 4 ROs, one each for 2 firing lines and they’ll swap after a couple hours. Keeps things moving and orderly if I’m out helping with the vehicles.
- Full schedule will be posted months ahead of time on @southwestnightshoot
- More steel & closer steel: I’ll pickup at least 2-3 more TA C-zones so there’s a plethora of silhouettes 10-200yd.

After breakdown on Friday night, 5 of us summitted the hill at the range under NODs around 12:30, camped overnight and got breakfast in the morning; traditions we will carry on to the next iterations.

I couldn’t have asked for a better first night, it was a great way to kick off this whole idea. Thanks again to everyone who came out and helped! The potential here is huge, I’m gonna do my best not to squander it. 🤙🏼

I have nothing but gratitude for everyone that contributed to or attended the inaugural IR Offroad. It was a humbling experience trying to tie this idea together and I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you. Watching you guys absolutely rip the RZR and ebikes around the desert was incredible, I couldn’t be happier with how the offroad aspect came to life.

Beyond stoked for the Fall iteration, I’ll get dates and schedule out to you guys ASAP.

It’s been one hell of a year! Really kicked off this little passion project of mine and met some incredible people along the way. Nothing more humbling and inspiring than people motivated to put in the work and build something meaningful.

We’re gearing up to do some wild stuff in 2026, it’s going to be awesome meeting more of you and continuing to test the boundaries of what is thought possible with night vision.
