The Last Inning..
From the beginning, the Salina Spikes were built on friendship, family, and a love for the game. Over time, they became known as a tough, disciplined team defined by grit, effort, and resilience. While players and families changed, the values that shaped the program never did.
The spring and summer of 2022 marked a new chapter, bringing fresh energy and excitement. As the team transitioned into high school summer baseball, new players embraced the culture established years before. “Don’t Let the Spikes Hang Around” became a rallying cry that reflected the team’s competitive spirit. Special thanks to Coach Dakota Hogan, Caden Kickhaefer, and Braden Pavey for their leadership and commitment to excellence.
This final season was truly special. Every player on the roster committed to playing college baseball, creating a team built on talent, chemistry, maturity, and confidence. The results spoke for themselves: a 30-2 record and five tournament championships.
Over 12 incredible years, the Spikes compiled an outstanding 330-115-4 record. Highlights included an NBC 9U State Championship, a USSSA 12U AA State Runner-Up finish, a USSSA 14U AAA State Championship, Perfect Game national and regional rankings, numerous tournament titles, multiple all-league and all-state selections, and a remarkable 100% college commitment rate.
Yet the true success of this program was never measured by wins, trophies, or rankings. It was found in the opportunity these young men had to grow as players and people, build lifelong friendships, and learn lessons that will stay with them long after their playing days end.
To every family who supported this journey, thank you for your commitment and encouragement. Most importantly, thank you to the players for allowing the Spikes to be part of your lives. Watching you grow into the men you are today has been an incredible privilege.

That’s a wrap on the 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ summer season! ⚾️🇺🇸🔵⚪️

The boys in blue closed out the summer with an impressive 25-11-1 record, bringing home two tournament championships! 🏆🥇

It was a bittersweet ending as several of our guys laced up their cleats for the final time in Spikes blue. The originals, Oscar Perez, Chance Hogan & Keaton Smith, marked their last game of the season with a milestone — their 300th career win! 👏🏽🙌🏽

A huge thank you to all the family, friends, and fans who supported us every step of the way. Your cheers, encouragement, and love made this summer unforgettable. 💯🙌
