“That’s a wrap!” I had such a great time in North Carolina shooting John Chinaman. It’s been a week since I came back to NYC and I’m still processing the wonderful experience I had with the director @ethanachoi producer @gavincorneliusedmonds DP @kevinbfeng , fellow actors, crew, and locals. Thank you all so much—it will go down as one of my all-time favorite projects. The majority of the crew were Gen Z, and I was so impressed by how talented, hardworking, passionate, genuine, smart, and caring they were. Their parents are likely Gen X—like myself😅—and I have to say, our generation did a great job raising them! 😅 It gave me so much hope and excitement for the future of filmmaking, seeing their energy and commitment on set.

The story centers around railroad workers at the end of the 19th century. And while it’s a period film, its themes still resonate—especially in today’s political climate. Issues of racism, workers’ rights, and the fight for dignity and recognition are woven throughout the narrative. The struggles, resilience, and humanity portrayed in the story feel deeply relevant and urgent even now. I’m so fortunate to be a part of the message this film carries. 📷: @brendanrains
