2026 Thunder in the Hills Percussion Invitational was a great success! Placed 2nd overall and won the Best in Class Front Ensemble award as well as Best in Class Bass Line! This is the second year in a row for both of these awards and third overall since my time at Vista.

So many people to thank and recognize for making this possible. @hector_gil_percussion for bringing me on the team ten (!) years ago and trusting me with this incredible front ensemble. @bperez00 for trusting me now and being an amazing friend and colleague. All the band directors at VRHS for letting me do what I do and being amazing friends and even better humans. @koafujimoto for his wealth of knowledge and experience and for being the best partner in crime. And of course @rarickt for writing us such cool beats to showcase the skills of all of these young musicians.

Fantastic start to my 10th season and can’t wait to see how the rest of it turns out!
