I grew up in a Christian household and my grandparents and the others around me were also religious. I went to church every Sunday but I never actually knew much about God and had or wanted a relationship with him. My life felt empty, like there was something missing. In December of 2024 I went through some really dark parts in my life. I started to be upset all the time and doubt God. Why was God putting me through this? I had drifted so far away from God, I was going through so much pain and I just didn’t understand why it had to happen to me out everyone? In the winter of eighth grade, I started to go to Grace Valley. I started to really understand more about Jesus and taking my faith very seriously. There was one day I was doing a Bible study in my room and I was reading 1 John 1:9 and it says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” The question is not whether we have sinned, but whether we will bring our sin to the One who is ready to forgive. I didn’t have to carry my guilt anymore because His forgiveness is guaranteed, and I just needed to let go and give it all to Him. My youth leaders have spent so much time pouring into me and never giving up on me. When I gave it all to Him it was like a heavyweight was lifted off of my shoulders and that second, I knew that I wasn’t walking alone anymore. The truth is that I never had been but that was the exact moment I finally realized it. I stopped chasing the things that used to empty me and started chasing Jesus. Nothing you can ever do will separate His love for you. He will save your life you just have to trust in Him. I am living proof that you are never too far gone, and God will meet you right where you’re at. 1 Peter 5:7 is my favorite bible verse and it says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” He’s not waiting for you to be perfect He’s just waiting for you to show up.

Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

He really does save lives!!!

Thank you @gvcyouth for letting me share my testimony at camp! I saw the Lord work through so many people and I am so glad I got to have this experience! I love the second family I found in this youth group so much!
