This cover photo probably got y’all thinking this an Uncle Luke Freaknik party or sumn. Don’t mind the cover photo. That’s just click bait, but Uncle Winks annual cookout was healing for the soul. Everything was free and BYOE*Bring Your Own Everything*, so it’s always a great time when you can have a picnic, bring your own lawn chair, put food on the grill, or vibe to the Dj’s set and move your hips to release that sacral chakra built up inside ya. Grateful is an understatement for the curation of a safe space & generous experience provided by @ill_wink and family of Dj’s. 🙏🏾✨

What’s the first piece of art an artist ever shows you?
Before the canvas.
Before the sculpture.
Before the exhibition.

It’s themselves.
The way they move through the world, the spaces they create, the conversations they have, the things they value; all of it becomes part of the language.

Style is not just about clothes. It’s about expression, intention and authorship.

I’ve actually always hated yellow.
It reminds me of a very vivid “projectile vomit” episode I witnessed in primary school Lool .

But before Pullman Yards, I had already made a commitment to myself to try new things. Challenge my own instincts and step outside what felt familiar.
So I bought the yellow top.

Miuccia Prada has often spoken about creating from tension, from questioning, rejecting and transforming what already exists.

It made me think about how our personal presentation reveals the worlds we’re trying to build.
Sometimes style isn’t about showing who we already are, it’s about experimenting with who we could become.

Maybe your first artwork is the person who walks into the room.

Also… if you believe in a well curated life, tap in.

this was so much fun, i’m glad i got to capture such powerful energy in one room, we all mirrored one another in such a beautiful way 🥂💗

a time was had, we drank wine, the girls pmo to Kelela, we learned so much about each other, and the best part was, it felt like we all have already been friends, it was authentic and genuine asf 🥂💗
