LIFE UPDATE

Some pulls in life can’t be ignored. We stayed open to anything, following our instincts wherever they led. We weren’t looking for a plan or a map, just a sense of where life might take us. Still, the West never let go. Some places become part of you in a way you can’t explain, shaping who you are and the life you build. And when they call, you follow, even if it means circling back. Life has a way of bringing you to what feels like yours, and when it does, you just know.

At the beginning of November, Ethan and I moved back to Utah and slipped right into place, like no time had passed. We settled into a dreamy apartment with a view we’ll never get tired of, and we’ve loved the slow, steady process of making it ours. The mountains feel like home, and being back here has reminded us why this place belongs to us.

I never grew up dreaming about marriage, and then I met you. Loving you has felt like falling into something impossible to resist, a love untamed and fierce, yet the safest place I have ever known.

We were just kids, and already the world felt too small for what we had. Dancing under small town lights, sneaking long kisses in the hallways before racing to class, caught in a love that was reckless, wild, and unstoppable. Every unspoken glance pulled me deeper until there was no part of me you hadn’t reached.

Four years married, and the day we became one still feels like us, untamed, fearless, alive. No plan, no expectations, just the two of us, letting every moment lead us exactly where it needed to go. This day captured the freedom, the thrill, and the certainty of what we share. We are fire and gravity, untamed, entirely ours.

Almost twelve years together, nearly six of them out West. We ran with nothing but a feeling, that something was waiting for us beyond what we knew. We left behind everything familiar, not knowing exactly where we’d land, only knowing that we had to go. And in the process, we built a life from nothing, turning unfamiliar streets into something that felt like ours, finding comfort in the mountains, in the silence, in the spaces that belonged only to us. There is freedom in leaving everything behind, in proving that love and a little recklessness are enough to build a life. We made something real from the unknown, untamed, something that could only ever belong to us. Every wrong turn became a story and every season, a new version of us. We turned the temporary into home and let ourselves love it like it would last forever.

We got married here, in a life we created with our own hands. In a world we built from scratch, shaped by every experience that led us here. This place didn’t just witness our love, it became part of it. These mountains, these streets, the spaces we made our own, they hold every version of us, from the people we were when we arrived to the ones we’ve grown into. And yet, no matter how deep we planted ourselves, a part of me always wondered if we were just passing through, leaving pieces of ourselves in every place we touched. Maybe that’s what it means to chase a dream, to never really belong to one place, but to every moment that made it worth the move.

Now, we’re standing on the edge of something new, ready for what comes next. We’re leaning into it, just as we always have, guided by instinct, curiosity, and the pull of what’s possible. What we’ve made together moves with us, steady and unshakable. On May 1st, we return home to Pennsylvania, to pause in what’s familiar, if only for a moment. Because where we’re headed after that, is already rooted in everything we’ve built here.

You’ve been in my life for more years than not, yet you still feel like the kind of wonder I never saw coming. There’s something so rare about the way you balance calm and fire, making life feel secure, yet full of adventure.

I don’t know how I got to grow up with you, fall in love with you, and now live this life with you but I will never take it for granted. You are the most extraordinary part of my ordinary days.

Grief found me this year, and in the darkest moments, when it seemed like the world had lost its meaning, when the heaviness of it all threatened to drown me, you were there. You didn’t try to make it disappear, you simply held me, allowed me to feel every bit of the pain, and stayed by my side when I couldn’t find my own strength.

To think, over 11 years ago, we were just kids, so young and unaware of what we were beginning. We found each other in the simplest, most unexpected way, never knowing the love we were building would one day carry me through moments like this. That love has grown into something so deep, so steady and I can’t imagine where I’d be without it or without you.
