Ethno Jordan had its first edition!

From 16 to 22 September, musicians from different parts of the world came together in Amman for a week of music, cultural exchange, learning and connection.

For this special first edition, we spoke with the Ethno Jordan team about how the idea came to life, the musical and cultural diversity they wanted to share, and some of the memorable moments from the camp.

🌍 Where did Ethno take us in September?

From Jordan to U.S.A, September was another month full of music, cultural exchange, and unforgettable moments.

Our September map highlights the Ethno camps that took place around the world, bringing young musicians together to share traditions and experience the Ethno spirit through peer-to-peer learning.

One week of @ethnojordan and the exact reminder of why I do what I do❤️
A week of sharing folk songs, stories, and languages with people from all over the world, we had 16 different cultures this year and it was insanely beautiful to gain a new family member from all these backgrounds.
Thank you @ebraheem_shoupash 🙏 This wouldn't be possible without you being part of ethno 2026.
Thank you Ethno for giving us the perfect platform to spread our indigenous culture. 🤍

I chose these lyrics, written by my esteemed teacher, Rashed Qashou’ (Abu Ahmad), to perform at this concert, which brings together musicians from different parts of the world. I chose them because they express, in a direct and powerful way, our position toward our brutal enemy.

The lyrics say:

“My people, my family, my loved ones,
What has happened? What has become of us?
You who have lit the way,
Do not stop the resistance.
No veil can hide the sun;
This enemy is treacherous.
Nothing will deter them
But being trampled underfoot and beaten with boots.
And this is what God has decreed from above the seventh heaven:
The killing and captivity of young and old,
Even those who prayed behind the Prophet—
They would defile the pure.”

It was an honor to share this experience with all of you, my friends and fellow participants of Ethno Jordan 2026. It was a beautiful, unique, and truly memorable experience.

Thank you all.
