Oeno Camp 2026

I came to Virginia curious about Virginia wine to be honest that was the gift.

To sit at tables with winemakers, growers, and wine professionals asking not only what Virginia wine is, but what it might become for a new generation of drinkers.

I’m still thinking about the conversations, the bottles shared, the late-night cheesesteaks, and the gift of community.

There are giants who came before us, and there is something sacred about being invited to carry a little of that work forward.

Grateful for the people, the place, and the invitation to imagine the future of wine together.

Day one is wrapped ❣️

What started as a group of strangers quickly became new friends. We shared stories, perspectives, laughter, and deep conversations into the history of wine in context to our region, that reminded us why Oeno Camp exists.

A heartfelt thank you to the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center for welcoming us and laying down the historical context, Ethos Wine & Tea, Erin Scala and Desiree Harrison Brown for their incredible knowledge, Yolonda Coles Jones for grounding us, Pearl Island for nurturing us, Joel Cuellar for crafting an unforgettable cocktail experience, and the many Virginia winemakers who joined us to share your time, stories, and wines.

This community showed up in every way today, and we’re grateful.

A new adventure awaits tomorrow as we continue exploring Virginia wine country together.

Planning out my wine fall travel schedule and the event I’m most excited about is Two Up Wine Down. It’s a wine festival that features Virginia wine, amazing music, and a diverse community. This month we held an author event for our monthly meetup.

A chance for new Black Women Who Wine members to meet some who have been members for years.

At @ethoswineandtea the tea and wine are always flowing.

@stinagene is a beautiful spirit that everyone enjoyed meeting and supporting.

Book conversation often leads to life conversations.

Lemon cookies, lemon tarts, princess cake and more from @albemarlebakingco were on our plates.

Of course the wine was great.
