🇿🇦 Behind the scenes 🎺
I got the music the day before rehearsal and had just 20 minutes to practise because of my other work.
So I focused on the trickiest section and made the most of the time I had.
Was it perfect? Nope. 😂
Did I manage the rehearsal? Absolutely.
Sometimes that’s musicianship — prioritise, prepare, adapt.

A HUGE thank to @mohani.ka for the practice tip!

Little bit of a slow melody from Rule Britannia Today!

Been working recently on tone consistency and control. I’ve been finding that my bass clef D above the staff is a little thin so any tips on that are greatly appreciated!

My favourite recording of this piece is by the great Lyndon Baglin

🇿🇦Not an April fools joke but what is supposed to be a humorous piece for bassoon and orchestra… on euphonium. So perhaps for bassoon players, an April fools indeed! Don‘t be too harsh - taken from the audience from a phone.

🇿🇦Not the best acoustic for the start of the practise lab but this would my version of “what’s on my stand” from a while ago. Today a little Dukas which I will perform on Thursday. What is happening in your practise lab?

Was gibt es Neues in eurem Übungsraum?

🇿🇦 Couldn’t help but ask to have a photo in the snow! This is still so cool (😜) for me! Tomorrow is set for a chilling -11 degrees. At least we can try warm the crowds with our music. Looking forward to it!
