Deep in the mountainside rests the Vargúlfr, in a ruinous werewolf dwelling. Often depicted as a child eating witch-beast, the wolf-skinned human lives alone and unwanted. She, with her twin consciousness, rejects civilisation's artificialities. She embraces her transmogrified body so she may join her hybrid kin. Around her mossy fortress are wolfssegens dangling from the trees. Historically, these silver apotropaic charms were used by humans to repel her kind. But her glistening rings and amulets work the opposite. Hers are the love charms in the rock pool. Bewitching spells to lure men and maidens to her beloved forest. A werewolf was a demonised scapegoat. Now, she is a being of the human and non-human worlds yet residing in both. Hidden within the roots and swamps of the pulsing deep green.

The Text That Ended Rape at @industrabrno in @euronymous_bosch Geneaology of a Scapegoat

This monologue revolves around a dream of a violent rape revenge. The work exists at at the center of the main paradox of rape culture: condemnation of rape and socialization in to participation in to rape cultural hegemony. Taking visual queues from film genres such as splatter and fantasy romance, shaped by cautionary tales and anecdotes about rape in everyday life, the work explores collective sexual trauma as it is inflicted and perpetuated through supposedly benign anti-rape discourse and storytelling.
