Life on Earth: PAVLOVA 🍓

I think if someone comes to stay with me, cooking for them is a pleasure of infinite returns. I love feeding my friends! And it doesn’t have to be fussy gourmet. Just a piece of my heart straight to their bellies 💜

Today’s pasta? Shallot, garlic, zucchini, leftover Julia Child boil-steamed carrots from my colonoscopy prep (waste not) some tomato paste, sage from l’orto. Finish with parsley and olive oil. Rummo mezzi rigatoni. Pasta water pulls it together come sempre.

We had salad with @viacarota dressing thanks to @nytcooking sharing Nosrat’s take on it. I use it very sparingly cuz raw shallot and raw garlic (even cold rinsed, even with adding warm water to the dressing) still stick to the roof of my mouth for the rest of the day and sometimes the morning after. 🫪

Nigella’s spaghetti with chard, chilies and anchovies from #CookEatRepeat with a side of the NYT Sunday Crossword. Turns out I’m much better at cooking than solving. 🕵🏻‍♀️🍝

NB: I used leftover #gailan instead of chard and it worked just fine.
