A semester I’ll never forget!!

Thank you Madrid for bringing me some amazing friends and memories! The last five months have taught me so much, not only about the world, but about myself as well. I have grown in more ways than I can even begin to describe. My time abroad was full of so many highs and lows, but I wouldn’t change any of it. This semester was the biggest blessing, and I’ll forever be grateful for it!! While I am so sad this chapter of my life is closing, I am so excited to see where the Lord leads me next! If you are thinking about going abroad, do it!!!

Week 16 - back to regularly scheduled programming

Alrighty so we started off the week by flying back Palma early on Monday morning. It was the last week of classes so after we made it back home I had an hour to nap and then had to get ready for class. This was probably one of the longest days ever - genuinely not sure how I survived. We are still trying to check off as much as we can from our Madrid bucket list so that night we went to the Mondays bar crawl and made it like halfway through before heading home. I think I had 21 stand hours that day on my Apple Watch if that tells you anything. Tuesday morning rolled around and I did not have my first class of the day so I went to Mazal Bagels and Epico coffee with Beatrice. I also did a takeover that day for UK’s study abroad instagram page which was super fun! We headed to Getafe after breakfast and I had my last day of classes without even realizing it lol. It is honestly crazy to even think that classes are over and now it is exam time. It was Cinco de Mayo so that night Allie, Yasmin, Beatrice, and I went to celebrate at Tiki Tacos (which was also on our bucket list). The strawberry marg was fire and all was well until Yasmin and I were headed home for the night and when we were crossing the street I tripped and fell and bruised the absolute crap out of my hip. The worst part was that I lost my bracelet that I bought in Assisi. Honestly still not over it and I am depressed about it. We looked for it all over and literally could not find it anywhere. Wednesday rolled around and I spent the entire day grinding on homework. We started the day by fueling our bodies at Watts and then headed to the UC3M library. I was there for so long and literally felt like I got nothing done, but it is the thought that counts. Beatrice and I decided to take a little break and found a cutie little coffee shop that was close to the library. The owner was so sweet and she even took a picture of us with our coffees and cookies and posted it on her story. Honestly she was one of the highlights of my day.
