treehouse, surf house, zoo, 5 o’clock house, gracie’s lovely fucking home. whatever name it went by.

four years ago, august and i got randomly matched with two girls who would become some of the best friends i’ll ever have, and somehow we all settled into this lovely fucking home with a back door nobody could open, a kitchen sink that either leaked or never worked, a washing machine that tried to jump off the porch with every load, two cats we suddenly became responsible for, and a raccoon that lives under my bathtub.

but our shitty back door welcomed friends, family, probably more bugs than i’d like to think about and strangers. our kitchen sink washed dishes dirtied from keeping each other alive through many finals weeks. we sat on our violent washing machine for post-gator game caffeine, alcohol and nicotine. onion and french dip greeted everyone who walked in, even if french did so by blocking cars in the driveway. and the raccoon…

i have no justification for him, but i named him rigby.

much more to say, foolish to try, but ill forever be thinking of our lovely fucking home and the people who filled it.
