That there cyclone ain't gonna ride itself folks. Overall Coney Island and Brighton Beach are just about as Instagramable as I remember them to have been long before Instagram existed. Hey I'm even in some of these pictures with my Nathan's hotdogs mustard yellow kicks. It was my postedponed birthday so I was spoiled with awesomeness by the family. Evan won a carnie game and selected a funky purple monkey to gift with. I was even talked into meandering off the boardwalk and down to the water's edge to touch the Atlantic Ocean with my index finger before we all went out for a nice Hallal meal at an unexpectedly authentic Uzbek restaurant. Don't get the pickled herring they said, but i do what I want. That pickled herring wasn't going to eat itself so I helped it along with a fevered enthusiasm. Then we all went to what I can only describe as a Russian mafia pool hall/discotheque style upstairs bar room for a night cap, odd vibes, eastern European Eurovisionesque DJ sounds and a damn fine slice of candled cheesecake with sparkler on the side so I could blow out the flame to make a birthday wish.

Reminiscing on the epic COASTER release show to remind you that it’s @bandcamp Friday!

What does this mean? All proceeds from sales on Bandcamp go directly to artists today, with no percentages taken out. It’s a great way to show an indie artist you love your support.

If you’ve been loving the record and are a fan of vinyl, let me encourage you to pre-order COASTER on vinyl now as a way to help me get these babies pressed!

Link to Bandcamp in my bio!

🙏 for your support!

mom always knew how to charm the face off strangers
even when she had dementia men would wanna bring her home
isn’t it funny how we look alive
but we’re unraveling inside
wanna get tangled up
i wanna love my death drive

If you missed my set at Cherry Rock, come see me and the band play at @threesbrewing in Gowanus this Wednesday 8/12! It is going to be a nice Brooklyn home show before I hit the road with @emilyjeannebrown - I’ll be sharing more reminders of where you can see us, but for now, Brooklyn peeps, come to Threes!!

Happy 10 years to Petshop! @petshopjc

Ive attached a lot of art I created Petshop over the years, I have drawn musicians and patrons on my iPad, a couple of times I brought ink and sometimes Watercolor. I’m sure I will find more art in the future and make more posts. ( please scroll through and check them all out)

I’m so proud of Petshop, being an investor and also building out portions of the bar itself as well supervising parts of construction in the very beginning, it’s incredibly rewarding to see it flourish and become the creative hub that I was hoping it would be. The downstairs bar is literally parts of the old picnic table from Jersey City Art School. I’m just so happy to see the raw material kept for creative use. I also built the signs in Jersey City Art School’s old Wood shop.

i’m happy that there are places that people can perform and make art and feel comfortable, and year in year out has been one of the best bars in Jersey City!

I hope Jersey City will sustain the interest of creative to allow for patch out to be around for many more decades. Thank you.

Hopefully, we’ll see some of you tomorrow. I will be there for the 10 year from 3 to 6… but the event runs all day!
