Final call for our little November gang ✨

A weekend off from being productive, impressive, sensible and good at things… sounds like an idea? 🌞😅
Come to Wales with us.

For two nights, we’ll gather a small group in a beautiful retreat house surrounded by nature to make things, move our bodies, eat good food, draw, play, rest, talk nonsense, talk about important things, and generally remember that creativity doesn’t have to be a performance.

There’ll be:

🎨 life drawing + creative play
🧘 movement, dance, yoga + meditation
🥙 playful food + cooking
🔥 sauna + time outdoors
💬 sharing circles + fireplaces
🌊 optional lake dips and wanders
🍷 long dinners + long conversations
✨ and plenty of time to do absolutely nothing

You don’t need to be an artist.
You don’t need to be “good” at anything.
You don’t need to know anyone coming.

Just come curious. ❤️

A little glimpse into a practice I’ve been quietly developing for the past few years — and much more deeply this spring in Bali, where I did my 300-hour training in @embodiedflow — somatic movement and yoga.

I’ve been a little shy about sharing this side of my work. Perhaps because, as a cinematographer, there’s a certain pressure to only ever be seen doing the thing you’re known for.

But movement has always been such an important part of my life — a very true way of processing, playing, and finding my way out of my head and into the flow of creativity. So I decided it’s time to show and share this side of my practice more openly.

And so, here we are :)

This November, I’m bringing it together with two people I love working with — artist @evangeline.armstrong, who’ll explore body awareness through live drawing, and chef @cicely_vane, who’ll lead a playful food workshop — for a weekend of movement and stillness, meditation, creativity, delicious food, sharing and being in the Welsh countryside @trigonos_nantlle

The Unlearning
6–8 November · Wales
12 places only

A weekend for creative and creativity-curious people who might like to step slightly outside the usual ways of doing things.

Think fireplaces, sauna, coziness to the max, with gentle guidance and space to explore nature and yourself.

We already have a few lovely humans joining us. There are a couple of places left.

I’d really love you to come.

A little creative weekend in Wales
6–8 November 2026

We've been wanting to create a space where we can step away from the pressure to produce, perform and constantly be "good" at something — and instead make space for curiosity, play, movement, food, sharing and making things just because we want to.

For one weekend, we'll gather a small group of 12 people in a beautiful retreat house in Wales for a mix of creative workshops, movement, life drawing, cooking, meditation, yoga, sharing circles, time outdoors, sauna, optional lake dips ;) and lots of unstructured hanging out.

We have 3 creatives in da house to guide you through the weekend:
👩‍🍳 @cicely_vane — food & play / creative workshops
👩‍🎨 @evangeline.armstrong — live drawing & embodiment
🧚🏻‍♀️ @diana.olifirova — movement, dance, yoga & meditation

No previous experience needed. No need to be "an artist". Just come curious (and peckish ;)

6–8 November 2026
£375 per person — shared twin room
£500 — private room
£150 deposit to secure your place
12 places only

To join us, email cuteandcreativeretreats@gmail.com or send us a DM with THE UNLEARNING and we'll send you the full details.

PS There'll also be an optional medieval castle stroll on the way back — just to end on a high/inspiration note 🏰

In The Living Room unfolded as a quiet choreography in three acts.

The evening began at the table: an intimate dinner where artists and guests gathered over food, poetry, conversation and written offerings. Words were shared, exchanged and held between those present.

From there, the work moved into the garden for an improvised performance by Hannah Dowling and Betty C Fan. Voice, sound, live writing and handmade instruments came together in a space of listening, response and participation.

The final act emerged from the traces of what had passed between us. Before leaving, guests were invited to offer a thought, memory or fragment awakened by the performance. These written remnants will be suspended in the gallery over the coming month, allowing the evening to linger, shift and continue inside the room.

It was the kind of work that could only be fully understood by being there: held in the room, in the garden, in the sound, in the pauses, and in the presence of those who gathered.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and became part of this intimate, unrepeatable work.
