What a night to remember! 🖤

Last night we had the absolute pleasure of opening for @thelemonheadsofficial at @paard_denhaag in The Hague. And what a beautiful night it was!

After a wild week of playing our way through Germany, we couldn’t have wished for a better way to wrap things up. A room full of lovely people, beautiful music and that wonderful feeling of being exactly where you’re supposed to be.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out early to see us play and gave us such a warm welcome. To the lovely people at PAARD for having us, to The Lemonheads for sharing the night with us, and a special shoutout to Marcel and Nicole for bringing our music to life with their beautiful visuals and lighting. You made it all look and feel like a psychedelic dream!

These are the moments we live for.

Long live rock ‘n’ roll!

Love,
ANEMONE 🖤

Two excellent gigs last week, four great sets...so cool to have a brilliant support AND headliner😊
.
.
Glasgow for the sublime @wwilly.masonn opening for @evangriffithdando & @thelemonheadsofficial at @theclassicgrand. Having waited two decades to see him, this was my second Willy Mason gig of the year and he didn't disappoint. Brilliant songwriting, beautifully performed with that amazing voice. Couldn't ask for more

Though more was duly delivered. Must admit to some reservations ahead of the show, in light of Evan's well publicised issues with substances and mental health. Needn't have worried; from the first chord a happy, smiling, healthy looking Mr Dando and his band took the roof off the place. I could write screeds and screeds about this but I'll just say that I couldn't have wished for anything more. His vocals were so good that 'Confetti' was like the album version.
.
.
A sublime four song run: Rudderless, Stove, a Mike Nesmith cover - Different Drum - at full indie-grunge tilt then Hannah and Gaby just stopped me in my tracks, the place was losing its collective mind. And the singalongs on Evan's solo set, my goodness, everyone in the room word perfect on Outdoor Type and Frank Mills...it was quite emotional altogether.
.
.
To @labelleangele in Edinburgh for another night of 90s indie/fuzz/Americana/college rock in the shape of @buffalotomband with @mrgerardlove opening for them...
.
.
In Teenage Fanclub, I think it was Gerry who wrote all the best songs...he played a couple of really beautiful arrangements of Fannies songs, like Starsign, in amongst his solo stuff, accompanied by his very talented friend, Tom...who I assume was no relation to the evening's headliners🤭 A fantastic show, marred only by some Fannies uber fans acting like uber fannies, by talking through his set🤦
.
.
I'd only seen Buffalo Tom once, Queen's Hall in 1994, and @billjanovitz told us that was actually the last time they'd played the city! A high energy set with all the favourites, including MY favourite, Tangerine. Then they brought Gerry on in their encore - they had apparently toured together back in the day - for a full band Sparky's Dream 🥰🥰
.
.
Two top nights😊

On a recent trip to the rainy streets of #Manchester UK, Jaret took some quiet time to dive into Portland author @hollybrick’s #DeepCuts at the legendary @salford_ladsclub.

It’s been a long week, and Jessica’s been holding down the bar with exquisite style. We’re back to basics at JJ’s on Wednesday, so come see us and let’s talk life and love in the eclectic city we live and love as PDX.

There is a light that never goes out.

Eleven years ago on this date : @deadcuts @fat_white_family @thelemonheadsofficial and @sebadohofficial backstage at Greenwich 02 Arena. We’d just come off the road with Sebadoh and decided to have a little party . @dave_kusworth_official was also there ( RIP) if my memory serves me correctly. It was an exciting time .

“The strategy of life is that it’s gone before you know it” - is right, Evan.

Dando back in the room in Manchester last night @alberthallmcr with @thelemonheadsofficial.

Still free-styling his way through life. Some choice cuts on display.

The Lemonheads
Support: Willy Mason

Hadn't planned on this one but managed to get a cheaper ticket on Twickets. I couldn't pass up a chance to see @wwilly.masonn as he rolled through town. Great to see him play in a larger venue.

Impressed by the show The Lemonheads put on too. I know Evan Dando has had his issues but he stormed through what must have been 30 songs last night. all that was missing was some Juliana Hatfield vocals.

Fun Fact: Evan sings about not being the outdoor type. 'Dan do' means 'Indoors' in Welsh.

The Lemonheads, Classic Grand, Glasgow. October 2026. Like a lot of people, I came to @thelemonheadsofficial via their cover of ‘Mrs Robinson’. Although they had been operating as much more punky outfit prior to the release of “It’s a shame about Ray” in 1992, it was this record that really caught on. Great to hear those songs live again.
