Two years in the making. Three days open. One night that became a legend. ✨

@fritzhansen’s Sound Club was hands down the most considered activation I experienced at 3 Days of Design this year. Not because it was the most spectacular, but because it was the most honest.

Fritz Hansen x @technics_global limited edition turntable and lamp, an exclusive record pressed for the event, a podcast listening lounge. A central courtyard kiosk where DJs played all day. In the main showroom, five design icons paired with music composed specifically for them—sit in the chair, listen to its music.

The whole thing was about not taking a picture and moving on, but actually sitting down and letting the experience arrive. (Big Sightline™ energy—IYKYK).

And then, the one-night-only party.🥳

@dario_reicherl, Fritz Hansen’s CEO for Asia, performed as his DJ alter ego @dj_namansi alongside Seoul-based @dj_oviduct, Paris-based @chchchen, and Danish producer and DJ @__willone. I’d pay money to go to a party like this. The kind of night you don’t want to end.

Dario and @evanhoorebeeck, Fritz Hansen’s Creative Director, are two of my favourite people in the design world. Not for what they do (though what they do is pretty epic), but for who they are. The warmth, the vision, the humour, the care they bring to everything. You felt it in every decision they made.

Which brings me to the cap.

Sound Club merch caps sold out on day one. I didn’t get one, and I mentioned it to Dario. He looked at me like I was mad. “They sold out in hours. But I have a spare—take it.” I almost felt guilty accepting it, but I quickly got over it 😅. I’ve worn it almost every day since.

This post is created in partnership with Fritz Hansen. Yes, I’ve been commissioned to share my experience of the Sound Club—but how I feel is completely earned. The friendship is real and the respect runs deep. You can’t bottle that. And you certainly can’t pay for it.

A week home and Copenhagen is still settling in me. It’s a city I carry differently to other places. I spent part of my teenage years in Denmark as a refugee—and every time I return, that history comes with me. The gratitude never go away. It only deepens.

This trip gave me a lot. I reconnected with dear friends from every corner of the world and made some new ones I’ll keep. Laughed more than I expected to. Cried a little too. I danced until 4am. Had a coffee catch-up that stretched to nearly five hours—one of the best conversations I’ve had in a long time, and I’ve had a few.

Every year Copenhagen cracks something open. This year was no exception.

I’m still unpacking everything else. Some thoughts are forming—about what it means for something to feel genuinely alive, about energy you can’t manufacture, about what leaves a mark on you versus what doesn’t. More on all of that soon.

For now: these moments, these people, this city. 🫶🏼
