Apparently, Tesla Mom went international—and I didn’t even realize it. 🌍⚡️

Just stumbled upon this Slovak article mentioning the summer Abbey and I traveled more than 16,000 kilometers—10,000 miles—in 68 days in our 2013 Tesla Model S 60.

She was seven. The Supercharger network was still young (and much more sparse than today!) We slept in the car, crossed the country, reached both coasts and somehow became part of the international conversation about who drives electric cars and how far they can go.

The translated article describes Vivienne as our “faithful Tesla Model S,” and honestly, that feels even more meaningful now after passing 200,000 miles. Eight years later we’re still together, still traveling and still on the original 60 kWh battery. Now just wondering how long it will go! 🤔

Sleeping in my Tesla bed at Superchargers might be one of my more controversial road-trip habits. 😂 But in all fairness, with free supercharging and the luxury and comfort of the Tesla bed in my Model S60, it’s seriously the best deal ever. I’d rather put the money into a fun activity or nice restaurant at the actual destination than waste a night and $$ on a hotel for just a few hours of sleep. Tell me I’m not the only one who does this??

My 2013 Tesla Model S officially crossed 200K miles — and somehow, after 13 years on the road, road trips all over the country, more Superchargers than I could ever count, a few expensive repairs, a few VERY scary warnings and a whole lot of adventures…

Before buying a used Tesla—or if you own an older one—you should know this.

For under $100, you can use the Scan My Tesla app to check individual battery cell voltages and get a much better picture of your battery’s health.
