🕊️Julius Caesar🕊️

What an honor! It was a massive joy and pure delight to portray Lucius/Cinna the Poet in @ellie.otis 's adaptation of 'Julius Caesar' with @spotheatreco .

In a theatrical world that tends to favor people who are loud but not generous, I am incredibly grateful to do a show with Sweetie Pies Only Theatre Co. Believe it or not, the name isn't a marketing tactic. Everyone on this team, whether cast, crew, or production, were so incredibly kind, thoughtful, and supportive. I have never been in a production that was so fun, so professional, and created profound and rich work!

If you can, support Sweetie Pies Only by seeing their shows and auditioning! They are absolutely incredible. The sweetest theatre company in Utah, by far!

Julius Caesar was a beautiful production, and I had so much fun creating this world that so closely parallels ours. To my fellow cast mates, your skill and kindness won't be forgotten.

My favorite show I've been in so far! Excited for the next!

(PS: Shakespeare, I'm sorry I used to say I hated you. I was wrong!)

Yep, I got to play the CEO of “Where My Hug At?” Inc. 😅 All I’m gonna say is that Adam Sandler better watch out before I take his job as resident button-down flip flop guy. 👀 rip my facial hair, which I lost after the first performance oof. And s/o to my castmates for enduring my shenanigans—missing you already 🫶🏻🫶🏻

so often i feel like writing is the grind — reading and writing and never stopping to remember all of the little things and little moments that make me love it so much and dedicate my entire life to it. it’s so much more than just words 🥹

when @alyssa.miller130 @reed_____________crane and i built that deer back in April

so much work still left to be done on this production and project, but thrilled that we got to get it out their with such a brilliant cast. this puppet was a nightmare and i can’t wait to keep improving it - what we ended up with wasn’t everything we’d hoped, but for my first ever puppet, i’m pretty content with what we ended up with. additional thank-yous to the helpful and talented matthew terrazas (@the_know_nothings12) and ben priwer (@benpriwer) for the help forging and printing the 16lb metal antlers featured.

⛏️ MEET THE MINERS! ⛏️

HENRY (Pat Rodrigue) the newest member of the Buck Mountain crew, is just trying to keep his head on his shoulders. Quiet and reserved, he relies on his journal and his observations of his fellow miners to learn the ropes and fit in.

JAMES (Ryan Topf) is a calloused old-timer with a lifetime of regrets. Knowing he would never escape the mine, he learned to love it instead. He’s sure he’s made peace with the past until he gets a chance to redeem himself in the most unexpected of places.

JOHN (Morgan Champine) is only here because his uncle, who owns the mine, is making him prove himself. He resents the work, and looks down on his fellow miners.

RACHAEL (Meigen Salazar) is an experienced miner who’s keeping the crew together and aspires to move up in the ranks, despite not being able to work under her own name.

DANIEL (Stevie Anson) is TOMMY’s hard-working elder brother, focused on nothing but supporting the two of them.

TOMMY (Evan Van Leuven) followed his brother into the mine to be closer to him, but his real dream is to be a violinist. More pictures coming soon!
