Loop Festival’s 2026 theme Xiu Xiu (Whispers) inspires the official poster for this new edition 🌬️

༄ Loop Fair: 17–19 November
The artists’ films fair featuring around 40 galleries, which transforms our hotel venue into a hub where you will meet collectors, curators, researchers, art critics and more professionals specialized in artists’ films.

༄ Loop Festival: 10–21 November (@loopbarcelona_festival)
Developed by Aitana Vélez and Eva Pobeda from an idea by Filipa Ramos, the Festival unfolds under the theme Xiu Xiu (“Whispers” in Catalan), as Barcelona becomes the World Capital of Architecture. The program celebrates the city as a host to a multiplicity of life forms, who share spaces, rhythms, tones and places with us. With more than 20 appointments – concerts, talks, exhibitions, performances, and more – Loop Festival will take over the city for 10 days in November.

༄ Loop Talks: 18–19 November
Curated by long-time Loop friend Lisa Long, the two-day program of panels, taking place in the same venue as the Fair, invites key figures in the artists’ films ecosystem to tackle relevant questions of today’s art landscape.

The visual campaign for 2026, created by Ana Habash (@anahabash) and Alex Viladrich (@alexviladrich) with Román Cadafalch (@uno_cosechando), takes a close look at the hidden, tangible and intangible, forces that move the city of Barcelona.

News about accreditations and programs will be out soon!

snippets from my score for HEKABE, currently running at SCHAUSPIELHAUS ZÜRICH

got to spend two months in zürich composing often strange and sometimes beautiful music. thanks to the whole team and also thanks to katrin vogel (alphorn), @ralph_heidel (sax), as well as @yung_pretty_flokko and @simon.popp (drums) for their musical contributions. here come the liner notes:

Troy has fallen – and for the women of the defeated, the true horror only begins now. Hecuba, once queen and now a captive, stands at the center of this story of power and suffering.

Angeliki Papoulia and Christos Passalis, co-founders of the theater collective BLITZ and known from the films of Yorgos Lanthimos, bring ancient material to the stage with lightness and a sharp eye for contemporary themes. For their debut at Schauspielhaus Zürich, they turn to Euripides’ Hecuba – ruthless enough for our present, mad enough for our time.
