Just now starting to come to terms with the fact that it’s actually over 😢

This past 6 months has genuinely been the most incredible season of my life. There were times when it was difficult, exhausting, frustrating, and even heart breaking, but it was always worth it, and extremely powerful. There is something about working with children that genuinely changes you. Kids who have come from every walk of life, and still become strong, loving, kindhearted individuals. Kids who have nothing to give, and still insist on giving you everything they have. Kids who haven’t always been cared for, but always care for others.

A year ago, I didn’t know anything about Ecuador. I had assumed that it was relatively similar to Mexico, and I never had any intention of visiting, but when OSSO extended the Director of Volunteer Experience position to Kyle and I, I knew that we had to go. I have never fallen so fast or so hard for a country as I did for Ecuador and the people there. My heart is overwhelmed with love for our experiences, and everyone who crossed our paths during that time.

I owe everything to the amazing kids and volunteers that I had the pleasure of serving with, and I cannot imagine a more profoundly impactful experience. Truly thank you so much to every single person who changed my life during that time, and to OSSO for making it all possible.

Ecuador, I love you, I miss you, and I will never forget you💛❤️💙
