11U Gold are USABL Labor Day Classic Champions 🏆

The boys battled their way back to a championship matchup against a team that got them earlier in pool play…this time they finished the job.

Charlie Orfe came in on the mound to close it out, working through runners on second and third to seal the win. Scroll to the end to watch the final out ➡️👀

Big weekend for Coach Paul and this group. Tough, competitive baseball and a championship to show for it.

Almost two years of friendship… and finally meeting in person. ⚾️

We met through baseball and T1D almost two years ago, and somehow one meeting turned into daily conversations, encouragement, and constantly cheering each other on from hundreds of miles away.

We finally got to be together at a tournament of course.

There’s something different about meeting someone who just gets it. Someone who understands the highs, the lows, the planning, the devices, the game-day adjustments—and still says, let’s go play.

We’re both Type 1.
We’re both baseball players.
And we’re both determined to show what T1D athletes are capable of.

I want to help lead the way for the T1Ds coming behind us. I want younger players to see that taking care of your diabetes doesn’t mean you have to step away from the sport you love.

And I want the baseball world to see us differently.

We aren’t a liability. We’re an asset.

T1D has taught us discipline, preparation, resilience, and how to keep going when things don’t go exactly as planned.

We are Type 1.
We are built different. 🩸⚾️💙

Two years of cheering each other on from a distance.
Finally getting to cheer each other on in person. 🙏

Here’s to the next chapter.

⚾ FEATURED ATHLETE ⚾

This weekend, fellow T1D ballplayer @evdember18 went yard. 💥

Moments like these are exactly why Type One Baseball Co. exists.

Every game, every practice, every tournament comes with a little extra preparation for athletes living with Type 1 diabetes. But they continue to show up, compete, and chase big moments just like this one.

Congratulations on the home run, Ev! We’re proud to celebrate athletes proving every day that diabetes doesn’t define what’s possible on the field.
