A little look back at a year of delicious moments at Evenfall. ✨

The seasons changed, and so did the plates — each one part of a story shared around our tables. A long lunch, another glass poured, a conversation you didn’t want to end.

Here are a few dishes we’ve loved serving over the past year. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a taste. 🤍

What a way to spend a Sunday!

Natalie Fryar @bellebonnetas and Hugh McCullough @wellingtonandwolfe joined us at Short Grain @shortgrainbymb for a long lunch with Martin Boetz @martinboetz, for a fabulous afternoon pairing Northern Tasmanias stunning wines and Martys incredible Thai food.

We kicked off with Merimbula rock oysters with red chilli nahm jim and crisp eschalots, served with a spiced chicken skin cracker, and a grilled prawn with peanut relish and green mango, alongside the newly released Bellebonne Bis Blancs NV. Fresh, bright and brilliant with the chilli and lime.

The eggnet of crispy pork and caramelised coconut, and the raw scallop with green chilli, ginger and trout roe, got two wines. First the Bellebonne Vintage Rosé 2023, then Hugh's Wellington & Wolfe 2025 Riesling, all tangerine and grapefruit with that lovely racy Tasmanian acidity cutting through the ginger and heat.

Then the green curry of kingfish and a braised beef rib with black vinegar hot and sour salad, with the Evenfall Pinot Noir 2024 @evenfallwines. The Pinot with green curry worked beautifully with the crunchy red fruits elevating the aromatics of both dishes, and the soft silky tannins matching beautifully.

To finish, tropical fruit and Short Grain's coconut sorbet with the Bellebonne Vintage Cuvée 2022, which was a pretty special way to end things.

A huge thank you to Martin and the whole Short Grain team, to Natalie and Hugh for coming up from Tassie, and to everyone who joined us. We'll definitely be doing this one again!

Celebrating 125 years in style. ✨

Joy & Joy was honoured to cater The Southport School’s 125th Anniversary Gala, bringing together 800 guests for an evening that matched the occasion: refined, memorable, and beautifully executed.

From the first course to the final toast, our team delivered experience led food and calm, professional execution, exactly what a milestone like this deserves. Thoughtfully prepared dishes, seamless service, and an atmosphere worthy of 125 years of history.

It’s not every day you get to be part of a celebration this significant. Congratulations to the entire TSS community on this incredible milestone.

A gorgeous Tassie pinot to celebrate A Study In Sparkling officially coming out in North America 🍷

The flagship wine of Bibliophile - the winery in this book - is a very serious pinot noir, and it might taste a little like this one from @evenfallwines . Sweet strawberry, fresh blackberry, dark cherry, gentle oak spice along with roses and violets - this is a complex wine that makes you think, not a party pinot that disappears in a blink.

Enjoy the book, pals - and if you have a glass of wine while you're reading, let me know what you're drinking 🩷🩵🥂

I can promise you the photos just don’t do justice to how much this property will take your breath away.

Welcome to @evenfallwines!

Located just outside of Legana, this beautiful property offers the beauty of rolling green hills filled with vines, and the stunning outlook of the river. The building has been building has been carefully thought out to give you the option of indoor/outdoor entertaining onto the deck, or a cosy romantic space with the wood fire inside. The expansive windows give you beautiful views 180 degrees for a sit down or cocktail style event.

A little chapel offers a quaint space to get ready, with beautiful stained glass windows. Or simply could be used for a small group of 10 or under style reception.

A simple willow tree provides the perfect backdrop for a ceremony straight out of a romantic novel.

This venue is perfect for couples who appreciate good food, good wine and good views.

Even if you’re not getting married, we highly recommend adding a visit to your to do list to enjoy the wines and view.

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a Tasmanian wine masterclass hosted by Ben Hasko MS MW and Sheralee Davies, followed by a walk-around trade tasting featuring leading producers—including House of Arras, Delamere, Moorilla, Holm Oak, Broad Arrow, Evenfall, Gala Estate, Tolpuddle, and Mewstone/Hughes & Hughes—who showcased their exceptional cool-climate wines. The experience was particularly fascinating for the opportunity to compare single-clone Pinot Noirs alongside other prominent clones such as MV6, 114, 115, 777, and Abel, revealing the distinct character and regional expression each clone brings to the glass.

Cheeky Scottsdale pork chop on the menu this week!

Brined, sous-vide, and cooked over the Gaucho grill, finished with a shallot & red wine vinegar syrup glaze.

Topped with a kumquat vinegar made months ago ~ green Sicilian olives, ~ pickled mustard seeds ~ marjoram, & dill.

Burnt pear on the side.
