They say you’ll never forget your first marathon. I guess they were right. Everest Marathon 2026 🏔️ I couldn’t have asked for a more unforgettable experience. I’m so grateful for the incredible people I met along the way, and crossing that finish line made this whole experience even more special. #worldhighestmarathon #everestmarathon2026

When it comes to race day, my body makes executive decisions without my approval… 🥹 It’s just the athlete within me that will always stay with me. It doesn’t worry about what I’ll feel like tomorrow, next week or beyond, when the gun goes off, the body and mind says: GO! Self reminder: MUST respect the recovery week… @movementisplay

The distance isn’t the hard part at these races. The heat, the cold, extreme conditions or the thin air is. Which one do you want to take on? Comment “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED” if you want to take on a challenge like these… 📸 @adventurecorps 📸 @meghanmhicks 📸 We’ve done our best to credit photographers where possible. Eating healthy is a priority for my health and performance. I was inspired to start running in my pre-teens and continue running because it motivated me to focus on my nutrition for my health and for my training. Most importantly, I wanted to help educate my parents how to eat healthier and guide them how to make healthier choices each day. When I ran my first marathon in 1999 at age 14, I was highly motivated to help my parents be more active and eat healthier. Now almost 30 years later since I started running at age 12, my goal is to continue to support their health in their 60s and beyond. @trifecta helps me make healthier choices at home and also helps me support my parents. Here’s to healthy choices for our bodies and mind. Training my dad for @marinecorpsmarathon & @lamarathon next.

While many of you know the quiet Brit Stewart Dutfield because he has completed Escarpment 27 times and manages the ETR archives, his running resume well exceeds his modest demeanor. Stewart started running ultras when he was a teen, completing three 60 and one 100 mile events in Britain in 1971-74. He ran his first road ultra at the elite Two Bridges in 1983, completing 36 miles in 4:04:14 for 17th place. 1987 was Stewart’s banner year. At Pikes Peak he finished 12th overall and earned an age group buckle. He set a PR of 2:31:58 at the London Marathon and an impressive record at Overlook Overload, running 35.8 miles up and down Overlook Mt. in Woodstock in 6 hours. He took the fall off from work to travel to the Himalayas, where he won the first Everest Marathon. Reaching 17k in elevation, the race went from Everest Base Camp to Namche Bazar, with (as Stewart puts it) a surprising amount of climb. In 1989 Stewart finished ETR in under 3 hours, clocking 2:59:30 for 5th place. The next year at the JFK 50 Stewart finished 8th in 6:45:50. In 1995 at age 40, he finished second at the Chuckanut 50K. In the early 2000s, Stewart took a break from ultras to move east and start a family. But the ultra itch didn’t stay hidden for long. 40 years after his first 100, Stewart completed the mountainous Cascade Crest 100. He has continued to do ultras (125 of them to date) as he has cruised into his 70s, completing the 53 mile Highland Fling in Scotland a week ago…a month after completing his 27th Escarpment Trail Run. #escarpmenttrailrun #escarpmenttrail #trailrunning #pikespeakmarathon #everestmarathon Photo credits: 2: Joan Hutchinson 5: Graham Macindoe 7: Rob Howard 8: Glenn Tachiyama

Every breath cost double, every step over glacial moraine tested every ounce of endurance. The Everest Marathon broke me down and built me right back up. High altitude, heavy legs, unstoppable mindset. This one was for the mountains and the legends who prove limits are meant to be shattered. @nimsdai

This is the sound my brain makes when I see big mountains. Or when I see a forest with trails. Or when I complete another training week that will get me closer to the next mountain. How about you? 🤭 Hope you have a wonderful start to a new [training] day.
