12 years ago in Glasgow, I made my Australian debut and stood on the Commonwealth Games podium with bronze. Eight years after winning gold on the Gold Coast, I’ve now left Glasgow with gold, and an 8 year in the making PB 🥹 Sometimes the breakthrough takes longer than you expect, but it’s always worth the wait.

A lot has changed in the last 12 years, yet I’m so grateful for the privilege of representing Australia and for everything this journey has taught me about faith, perseverance and courage. If you’re in a season where it feels like you’re breaking, don’t lose hope. Your breakthrough could be just around the corner. God’s promises never fail, and His blessings always prevail ✨

This medal is about so much more than the result. It’s a reflection of my coach, teammates, support staff, sponsors, family and friends who have believed in me, prayed for me, carried me and stood beside me through every high and every low. I wouldn’t be here without you 🇦🇺 Now back to it. Next stop: Para Pan Pacs 🇺🇸

Congratulations Nicola Olyslagers, Female Field Athlete of the Year!🏆🏆🏆

What an extraordinary season: Diamond League Final Zurich Weltklasse winner, Tokyo World Athletics high jump champion, and countless highlights and victories across 2025! Your grace, strength, and joy continue to inspire the world. Listen to her interview…

“Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water’… and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine.” John 2:7–9
A reminder that God can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, just as your dedication, faith in Jesus, and perseverance have turned talent into triumph.

Huge congratulations to @nicola.olyslagers and to coach @matthewhorsnell @rhysoly95 🙌🏽🙌🏼🙌🏻❤️

Heartbreaking.
That's the word I'd use to sum up my race at the World Championships. I was disqualified at 8.5k for form issues. I am not upset with the judges' decision. It's become evident I have an issue with one of my knees, and the integrity of our sport relies on strict standards. What I'm crushed by is not having the opportunity to battle myself physically and mentally for the whole 35k. I trained extremely hard this summer and wanted to put my fitness to the test against the world's best. I spent a lot of time trying to overcome feelings of fear and doubt about the race and whether I'd make it to the finish line due to the heat and stomach issues. I was able to mentally get to a place where I promised myself I would suffer through to the end no matter what. I'd committed to pushing through and proving to myself that I COULD do it. I wanted to demonstrate how God's power shines through our struggles and gives us strength when we're weak. But unfortunately, I didn't get that opportunity, which hurts. I wasn't able to follow through on the promise I made to myself.
But at the end of the day, I know I have a God who sees me, loves me, and cherishes me, and how I perform doesn't change my worth. Race walking will always be what I do, not who I am, and ultimately, this trip was about so much more than just a race. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to explore a new country, develop friendships with fellow teammates, and make lifelong memories!
And a silver lining to my disqualification is that I was able to be in the stadium to witness the historic moment when my coach and teammate @evandunfee won the gold medal!!
I am blessed to be returning home healthy and hungry for more. I'm ready to get back to life as a student, intern, coach, and friend, but I'm also eagerly anticipating next season and what God has in store!

"No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." ~ Philippians 3:13-14 ❤️
