I thought I knew what my results were going to say… and then I saw THIS. @everlywell 👀

I’ve been curious to learn more about my hormones because between being a dentist and mom of three. My days are busy with school drop-offs, and going from patient to patient.

So I took the Everlywell Women’s Health Test from home to get more insight into my hormone levels.

And one result genuinely surprised me: my cortisol was high at night.

I would have expected it to be higher during the day with how nonstop my mornings are, so seeing that result definitely gave me something to think about.

It's not in your head. It could be perimenopause. Here's how to find out. Testing can bring clarity and help guide your next step. There are two options: at a lab, or at home.

At a lab, blood tests include: FSH rises significantly throughout perimenopause. Estradiol fluctuates in early perimenopause and drops sharply in later stages. AMH indicates ovarian reserve and is typically low in perimenopause. Inhibin B declines during the transition. LH can become erratic or elevated. Progesterone is often low or absent, especially in later stages. TSH rules out thyroid dysfunction. A pelvic ultrasound evaluates uterine and ovarian health.

At-home options: Proov Empower (@proovtest), Mira Monitor (@hellomiracare), Inito (@initofertility), and Oova (@oovalife) use urine samples. Everlywell (@everlywell) offers a finger-prick blood test with mail-in lab results.

Hormone levels can swing from month to month, so results are one piece of the picture. If you're still unsure whether it's perimenopause or something else, talk to your clinician.

Dr. Connie Lehman wants every woman to know her risk anyway.

She is a Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and helped write the breast cancer screening guidelines for the American Cancer Society, the American College of Radiology and the NCCN. Her company, Clairity, uses AI to estimate a woman’s five-year breast cancer risk from one routine screening mammogram. It is the first tool of its kind authorized by the FDA. It predicts risk; it does not diagnose cancer.

This fall: • Sept 22: the Breast Cancer Research Foundation made Clairity the first investment from its new BCRF Ventures program. • Oct 1: Clairity Breast became available nationwide through Everlywell, using a mammogram from the past year.

I just found out I have low testosterone through an at-home test from @everlywell 😩

I had asked for metabolic tests to be done at previous dr appointments, and it was dismissed. I decided to take matters into to my own hands and order the saliva tests to be done at home!

The Metabolic test from Everlywell checked my cortisol levels throughout the day/evening, testosterone, and my TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). This is done by dropping saliva into a tube every few hours, and a blood drop test on a card (it’s fairly easy as a diabetic since I’m used to poking my finger).

I knew my TSH was higher than I like, so I worked with my doctor, who doesn’t accept at-home test results, so I re-tested at the medical facility. I’m now on a higher dosage of Armour to get my levels lower to where I like them.

My cortisol was great—I suspected I still had crazy cortisol spikes like I used to, but it isn’t to blame!

I’m very happy with my experience doing at-home testing and look forward to doing more!
